No one has an answer? My math-fu isn't great plus I do not have any SW technical manuals so I would like to know an ISD's internal volume as it is and if it was 100% empty.

What is the internal volume of an ISD?
It's the space inside of the ship. :P

From the Main site's industry comparison:
Wong wrote: Its length is approximately 1600 metres, and its volume is approximately 9E7 m³

Ok I think I found an answere... The guy doing the Warlords Mod ((A plugin that puts StarWars ships into a RTS Space game called Homeworld2)) Has a couple of an ISD in his 3D modeling program.

The program seems to have a function that autocaculates both the surface area and internal volumne of an obgect it in. And according to
THIS it's nearly 67,000,000 cu m.

If the red indicates what it's calculating, then it's leaving out the entire superstructure which could account for the other 23,000,000 cubic meters in Wong's calculation.

Just checked and your right. The magority of the upper superstructure is outside of a Box used to caculate the volumne. As such the total is most likely a vastly larger number.

Something of intrest to think about... An ISD has a crew of around 35,000. For a long time this seemed huge as such a massive amount of people was hard to imagine. Bit if you subdivid it into the volumne of an ISD, it woorks to almost 3000 cu-m PER person. That is a LOT of space.

Don't forget, there are also engines, fuel, reactors, Guns , walls, floors, lifts, ARMOR and supplies on this ship.

If one person has 2-3 m³ "personal" living space on the ship( =bed&locker), (not taking into account the looooong paths through all of the ship, Bright, mass, engineering, etc., it would be a lot.

This is a warship, not a leisure yacht.
