I have no clue about English poems, but I remembered that in DS9 O'Brien was often speaking lines from Charge of the Light Brigade and they sounded vaguely similar to this one. Gunner, did you write this yourself? It's pretty nice.

I altered the words somewhat to fit the scenario, but the actual base poem is the Charge of the Light Brigade, by Lord Alfred Tennyson:

Half a league, half a league,

All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!" he said;
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

Are pretty meanigful for them, I mean we see Jedi like Qui Gon question the council and get away with it, but could you imagine what would happen to a clone if he questioned an order?

And I think Charge of the Light Brigade is well known enough that most people would have got the link (although I'm in Britain, maybe it's not so well known in the states - it might have been pushed out of the school curriculum in favor of creationism or something ).

Okay they did win the battle of Geonosis, but surely there are examples of honorable Stormie defeats?

No, the ignorance of such things is quite strong on this Earth. In any case ten people have yet to indicate that they did know before Oberleutnant ruined any chance of acutally finding out.

great work, very inventive although i must admit that "charge of the light brigade" is one of my favorite works. I think being a brit it instils fierce patriotism in oneself, even if it is about a complete fuckup.
