After 25 minutes of fruitless Searching ang googling, and checking SW.Com and my copy of the original SW ICT and the crashed SWTC I Come here for answers to a few questions of mine, my first question is:

1)A] The weight of Luke's X-wing.
B] Also the increased energy needed to lift it out of the Mud on Dagobah would be very appreciated .

2) Another request is a screenpic of the Pillar that Yoda stops from falling on Anakin and Obi-Wan, I need to calculate it's weight (Estimates on what the material might be [Marble or rock or metal/iron] would also be helpful).

3) A] Thirdly can someone help me with the rough size/mass of the Senate pods?
Their base is a circle [[pie]*radius^2]/2], but I need some help calculating their mass due to the hollowed out upper portion and with scaling etc'.

B] I also need the speed that Palpatine tossed them at Yoda (And their return speed ), so that I can calcualte their EK and the energy output of Yoda's TK [return speed+original speed and the additional speed from gravity*sin(Degree compared to the ground)].

At the risk of sounding like a broken record:
4) I also need to know the exact source of the interview in which Lucas said that Anakin would have become 2 times as powerful as Palpatine given time, and that as Vader he was only 75% as powerful as Sidious.

EDIT: Formatting clarified for easier understanding.

1. The truth is the figure your looking for doesn't exist. I've seen the X-wing's mass estimated from anywhere between 4-100 metric tons. depending on whether or not you believe its fuel mass is orders of magnitude greater than its dry mass. Why do you want to know the amount energy yoda expended. If your in a versus debate you want to calculate the force. For instance if you assume the X-wing masses 25 metric tons::

F=ma
F= (2.5E4 kg)(9.82 m/s^2)
F=245,500 N

Just to for Yoda to lift it against gravity. Now just estimate how much force the object/person you want to smack can take, and done.


2. As for the senate pods, they have repulsor systems in them. So, there is no way to know what they actually mass or how much of their mass is offset by those repulsor systems. They might also be made of very lightweight materials, as they shouldn't undergo much stress in their normal operations. Actually, tearing them loose might have required more force than tossing them.

3. The stone support is your best bet for a solid estimate, no un-quantifiably high density materials, or repulsor systems involved. It should be easy to scale if you get some decent screen shots.

Just to clarify, the area of a circle is pi*r^2 are you saying above that they are half a metre thick or is it a slip?

The energy that yoda imparts to them with the rotation would not be insignificant. If we treat the pod as just the base (giving it a lower moment of inertia than if it had the walls) then the MoI is 0.5*M*r^2

The pod is spinning at about 1 revolution per second (not significantly diferent as i recall) which means 2pi radians per second

so the rotational energy is (0.5*MoI*angular speed^2) = M*(pi*r)^2

so if the velocity of the pod is less than pi*r*sqrt(2) then it actually has more rotational kinetic energy than normal ke

the radius of the pod is ~2m this means the velocity needs to be about 8.8m/s (20mph) to have the equivalent energy. The rotational energy is potentially quite significant.
