Personally I like the original the best. The German and French ones are okay and the Spanish one is just awful.

The French one kinda sunds somewhat Huttese, I guess. The Spanish though? Not really.

The French guy gave a decent effort at being menacing, so he takes second place.

The German guy... was disappointing. Knowing the villainous potential of the language, I expected better.

We did this before, and I believe the consensus in the previous thread is that in the absence of JEJ the French guy was the best.

I say it goes

French- the guy sounds actually menacing.
German- The language is inherently ominous. Just needs a better actor.
Spanish- WTF. That's not Vader. That's a deep voiced Spaniard reciting the lines.

Mark Hamill, definitely. He might not be as good as JEJ, but he's certainly better than his doubles. Whiney indeed.

The spanish one sounds too much like Lopez from Red vs Blue to be vader, in that clip anyway.
I would have thought that the German guy could have made a better go at the evilness though, maybe its just that point in the film?

German wins for "ICH BIN DEIN VATER!" alone. I wish I had that audio track! (Region 1 only has english, spanish and french, alas).

The French Vader sounds too much like he feels sorry for his son. Luke is great in all of 'em.

Btw, I can hear the breathing just fine in the Spanish one...

I do like the German one, mostly for the "Ich bin dein Vater!" as mentioned.

He recites it a bit too much. Doesn't sound as if he believes it; it mostly lacks the intensity of JEJ. Too bad, cause I generally like German dubbing.

I think that the German one was the best, the English one was a close second and the French version was OK, but the Spanish version was awful.

2) French

3) Spanish

The French guy is how James Earl Jones would sound like if he spoke French. Very good dubbing. All the others lack the deep, echoing menace that JEJ can project.

Edit: Very good dubbing.

JEJ rules them all, followed by French > German > Spanish. I would rank the Lukes as Hamil > German > Spanish > French.
