This is going to be the new excuse at TFN for not being able to find abusive posts that drove Traviss away: "Oh, we removed them"

Time for quick thank you while I have the floor.

I'd like to thank Philip Wise and his admin staff at TF.N for the work they've out in during the last couple of weeks to deal with abuse in their forums. We shouldn't expect the owner of the biggest fan site and his senior staff to get involved with the minutiae of forums, and they shouldn't have to, but they did. They removed a large amount of abusive and libellous material aimed at me by a small group, a long and tedious job that couldn't have been much fun for them. Anyway, if you note the large gaps and wonder what went on, it was Philip and his team showing that enough was finally enough. Thank you, chaps.

Never mind that, as many have pointed out, Traviss was not abused while she was there. TFN is "retconning" that history straight away.

Here's where I get off the boat. Fuck you, (current) Star Wars. Fuck you long and hard.

This is fucking unbelievable. Even the "3 million" supporters at TFN admit that they didn't see any abuse. Traviss's favorite new tactic is to cry "libel" over anything, but SHE'S the one making shit up about other people.

Unfortunately for that imbecile, we already have the quotes on record contemporaneous with the first flare up of controversy that proves conclusively that there was no abuse while she was on TFN, irrespective of how much Traviss whines like the fool she is.

Traviss is clearly better at playing politics than she is at writing well-made and well-researched Star Wars literature. Too bad she puts far more effort into the former than the latter.

Retroactive Continuity at work. Have anyone saved those pages? I'm not one for going at length, but as it has been shown over and over, there were no abuse.

To be honest though, I don't know why anyone would have ever expected fairness from TFN. Their forums have always been a shithole, dominated by teenaged fanboys.

It's interesting that some of our detractors have tried to make hay out of the fact that we said we were going to go to other forums and try to argue our case (as if that's such a horrible thing to do, and they referred to it as a "conspiracy") while they don't have a problem with someone actually running around erasing evidence.

I would be interested to know what these libellous statements are. The kind where people reported her wanting so and so garroted? I think this woman is making it her personal crusade to make sure her entire view point is the correct one, from the crappy writing she has undertaken to the various insults and threats that she has made. This started out as people asking questions and develed into her various shut-your-pie-hole responses. I'm simply amazed at the unprofessionalism she has brought upon herself. Its stunning, really.

Ahh, but Comrade Fire Fly, if they weren't libelous, then why were they deleted? The problem is, the TFN boards seem to value having VIPs on board more than they value discussion and criticism, so they have to hold the cock (or, in this case, the cunt) of each and every VIP -- and if one accuses people of libel, then by God, we'd better delete the libel!

Any chance they started deleting stuff because they realized it was going to show Travis being a psycho?

Have they deleted any of the inflamatory posts that she wrote?

I'm just thinking that from a legal standpoint Lucasfilm can't be happy with some of the potential mess she could be bringing their way.

She works for them. She's posting on their boards, and she seems to be claiming that what she says goes.


Do they just write all this sort of stuff off as a few obsessed fans stiring stuff up but it doesn't matter because they'll keep buying our stuff no mater how we treat them?

I can understand the idea behind the censoring. there was a lot of heat thrown around in the TFN boards that simply won't be accepted in a "civilised" forum. Some of the language there as well as style would have been unacceptable in a formal debate.


unfortunately, its not all that was deleted and worst of all, only one side was affected (presumably, I still don't see any editing of Thrawn shit yet)

What heat? We've noticed some blatantly dubious deletions recently, but not because the deleted posts were the "large amount of abusive and libellious material" that Traviss makes it out to be. The only thread that I know of to be completely deleted was the one-post-each thread where everyone just said whether they agree with Traviss or not. That thread wasn't offensive at all.

The posts iin the various clone war threads had been rather heated. Let's not forget that we have called razzy, Thrawn and any other number of idiots out for being idiots, save in a nicer manner. Confrontational debates isn't the norm for formal debates, save in presidential campaigns.

If you noticed the various posts, Hydronium and various other posters had parts of their posts deleted. I can't exactly recall what was in those statements all of the time, but I do recall they were usually statements made to confront some other debator position or point, although as others have noted, they also included mathamathical points about the Clone wars and supporting arguments.

However, like I said, the censoring has only been one way. The last time I checked, the accusations that "Saxtonites" and "Maximalists" had threatened Karen ARE STILL THERE. Similarly, the shit still hasn't been cleaned up. We been accused of calling Karen idiotic by posters, but the only person who mentioned that was a talitard. This hasn't been censored out.

As I recall, one of the moderators stated that not only was "libelous" material deleted, but also all follow-up and discussion, regardless of whether or not it was deemed offensive in of itself. That, I surmise, is why perfectly fine mathematical points were removed: they were several iterations of response down the line from something the moderator deemed offensive.

What a cunt.

I mean really, it just doesnt stop with this bitch and her cronies. God give me strength, this Traviss character is running TFN like its her own fiefdom.

She's taken a perfectly understandible mistake, and through her refusal to do a simple retcon and fix it, has turne dit into a personal crusade spanning several websites and the deepest ranges of the SW community.

I really hope she has no career after this, i mean that.

It's funny that back on page 97 of that thread she closed the topic.
