Are there any established ideological schisms within the Jedi Order?? I know well of the excommunicated and malevolent branch now known as the dreaded Black Knights of the Sith*, but I talk of minor sub-types of Jedi doctrines.
Qui-Gon Jinn's advice to Anakin Skywalker definately sound very different from Yoda's advice to Luke Skywalker, but are there any major directions of philosophy within the Jedi?? (like the Theravada, Zen and Mahayana sub-types of buddhism, not to mention the Sunni and Shi'a directions within Islam**)
*This is what they originally were intended to be called, but they ended up as being simply the Sith Lords. I still think that "Black Knights of the Sith" sounds so much cooler....
**I think there are other Islamic schools of thought in Afghanistan and Iran, but I don't know what they're called.

Hey, in the original script the dark side was known as the BOGAN. The BOGAN. WTF?*This is what they originally were intended to be called, but they ended up as being simply the Sith Lords. I still think that "Black Knights of the Sith" sounds so much cooler....
Going back on topic- I think this may be something to do with the unifying versus living force- or something.
I never really cared much for this whole force controversy though- it's supposed to be quite a big issue or some such.

Why not?The orginal scripts allowed for it,and the movies have the Living force against the Unifying Force.Simon H.Johansen wrote:Are there any established ideological schisms within the Jedi Order?? I'm glad they skipped the Bendu, it should just be Jedi. However, "Black Knight" still sounds so more classier than "Dark Lord".HemlockGrey wrote:And it was the 'Jedi Bendu'
Back to the subject - who are "unifying force" and who are "living force"??

Living Force focuses on the biological aspects of the Force, and the energy field.Simon H.Johansen wrote:I'm glad they skipped the Bendu, it should just be Jedi. However, "Black Knight" still sounds so more classier than "Dark Lord".HemlockGrey wrote:And it was the 'Jedi Bendu'

Unifying Force focuses on the philosophical aspects of the Force, and how it binds the galaxy together.
