Why not use conventional lasers against jedi? It then possible to "strafe" the jedi with a flick of the wrist faster than the jedi can move.

Same as a blaster then.

Even if you try using a laser, it's still possible for the Jedi to dodge and/or block. And I find it difficult to move your wrist faster than a Jedi with Force premonition and Force speed.

Hmm.. this seems to remind me of the "science of dodging bullets" thread.

The futher you are from the jedi, the faster the beam moves.....

Lets see jedis move at FTL as my 18000rpm spinny laser of doom hits him.

The real question is, why not two lasers? :P  :D

Problem is YOU don't have pre-cog nor are you superhumanly fast...you can only aim as fast as you can react, they on the other can move much faster...so the problem still is the same.

There is physical limits on where you can be at one place....

....gah, just shotgun them.....

Just turn on that kiloton nuke, see if the Jedi can escape at several hundred km/s.

News flash, nuke blast waves don't move anywhere near that fast. Thats several orders of magnitude higher than LEO orbital velocity.

I do not believe that jedi or sith can deflect lasers. If they could, they would also be able to deflect and bend normal light. This would lend itself to invisibility, as being able to bend light around you would make you invisible. The numerous situations where just such a talent would be useful, such as Obi Wans adventures in the shield column of the death star, and yet we never see anything like that happen. Also just the illusion of something being somewhere its not supposed to, like have a "wall" of deflected light act as a mirror to confusion the fuck out of opponents, hasn't been seen.

That aside, if they could deflect it, the rate at which the beam moves across field of fire is incredible. If you can move the laser 90 degrees in 1/8 of a second (2 rotations of your hand per second), and the distance of the opponent is say 10 meters, the beam would be moving nearly 80 meters per eighth of a second, or 640 meters per second. Unless a Jedi can run at mach 2, I doubt they can dodge this weapon.

It would work if they weren't using the force at the time or they were located near a ysalmari.

Light saber works against only one beam....

can lightsabers be wielded with precision and speed that would make the 640 meters per second seem like nothing? I mean, the jedi would have to move atleast the tip of the lightsaber at 640 meters per second and be able to change directions VERY quickly. And to top that off, he's have to make sure the light saber is where the beam is during this entire stunt. Put simply, its like dodging hundreds of bullets every second.
