Question For TFN Expatriates

I see many familiar names from TFN that have signed up here at SD.net. Tell me, what do you think of the place? Is your experience here completely different from what you were expecting?
Do you find the frank and no holds barred discussion of Star Wars topics more appealing without "mods" playing Miss Manners games? Do you find the much stricter stance on evidence presentation here refreshing?

One thing for certain, is that you don't have to suffer fools such as McEwok. I think evidence presentation makes for better arguments, and not more "ifs" and more "ifs" and these "ifs" can actually serve as arguments....
And certainly, no mods that are hoplessly biased and totally dictatorial to the point they would even ban on the whim.

Just remember, the language may get harsh, if you present a weak argument with no backing. I guess that's the main thing to think of. And there's no VIP positions, at all. :P

Unless, of course, we're talking about Very
Intellectual People, or perhaps Very
Influential People. Plenty of both of those.

Very Influential People
Influence is never a guarantee for accuracy. :P

If Karen Traviss is to be of any guide, her influence is not welcome.

Sorry to interject, since I'm not a TFN expatriate, but I still can't believe the way TFN allowed people to say bad things about TPM, Jar-Jar, and other creative decisions of George Lucas while clamping down like Kim Jong Il's secret police on anyone who dares say that Karen Traviss is a hack. In what parallel universe is it more acceptable for SW fans to flame George Lucas than some bitchy dipshit egotistical thin-skinned self-promoting second-rate hack EU writer like Karen Traviss?

- She talked to them.
- She's a 'she'. (Though that didn't help Jan Duursema, apparently.)

When I heard she bitched about her being a woman and that sort of thing, it struck me that she could be one of those feminists who thinks the world is against them and has an inferiority complex to boot.

There's no comparison. I can't stand TFN anymore. The movie boards were amusing for about an hour apiece, and the Lit board was great until I ran into McEwok and the masses who verbally fellate him.

Wow, someone should really cite this on TFN next time they have an opening.

Yeah, because it'll really be around for very long.

I'll do it if I get around to it, since I was thinking the exact thing Wong was. I'll have to dig up my password.

It is done:
Yours Truly wrote:Obviously George Lucas, Rick McCallum and Curtis Saxton are NOT considered VIPs. All three have been the subject of attacks on TF.N boards. I guess Karen Traviss is more important to Star Wars than George Lucas.
