Bossk Bounty Hunter Wars, crispy lizard?

Ok I just finished reading the bounty hunter wars trilogy and one thing caught in my mind, why is Bossk alive?
As he was on Jabba's sail barge just before it exploded shouldn’t he be too crispy to try to steal Slave 1 or bargain with the Kuat data?
Is this a case of the author just not wanting to create a new character when existing ones are already established (which I can accept as I like Bossk) or is there another story somewhere where we are told of Bossks escape? I know from the tales from Jabba's palace book that Bib Fortuna escaped back to the palace on a speeder bike but if Bossk also escaped (why would a Trandoshian hunter flee from battle?) then who was actually on the sail barge when it exploded other than Jabba's corpse? Its almost like the Han shoots first thing but with an attempt to make it look like Luke & Leia didn’t blow up a pleasure yacht with a couple of hundred people on it. (hey some of them must have just been engineers/cooks/slaves instead of evil alien criminals)
Or is this not Bossk? I’d imagine there are quite a few Trandoshian bounty hunters and that they would look pretty similar.

Is this from the SE? Because i haven't seen Bossk in the original ROTJ and BHW came out before the SE.

I dont think so, none of the sites that list changes with the SE mention it but its such a minor thing that I doubt they would anyway as it dosn't add anything to the film and Bossk isnt really a big character, the scene in question is just background fluff so Lucas probably just grabbed some alien costumes he had on hand rather than any meaningful statement.

Well we don't see him die, and as we well know EU writers are capable of anything. They ressurected Boba Fett who we did see die**
As for Luke & Leia blowing up the barge.. if they're capable of blowing up a battle-moon with millions of workers and crew aboard I don't think they'd lose much sleep over torching a sailing barge full of criminals.
** Yes yes, I know it can be argued that Fett didn't die. But to me, Sarlaac Pit = dead.

Could it just be another Trandoshan wearing similar garb?

This is probably the best explanation that dosn't contradict the Bounty hunter wars books, that costume could be some sort of standard Trandoshian uniform or climate control system perhaps(reptiles)

Its a shock anyone dies at all, if memory serves one of the big selling points advertised for the New Jedi Order books was that characters would DIE!!!!
shock horror!

Actually i think it's a Rebel flight suit. Presumably taken as a trophy. If other Trandoshans also like taking trophies and have fought Rebels, it could easily be a different guy.

The rebels are presumably using off the shelf flight suits unless they are funneling valuable credits away from arming themselves to the appropriate tailors. As a flight suit it probably does have some degree of climate control apparatus in it to make the big lizard nice and cozy but such an outfit could feasibly be widely available in numerous colors. This one actually is yellow rather than the orange used by the Rebels so that suggests to me the suit design is not uncommon.

He's not the only inconsistency between ROTJ and the KJA stories. Dengar is supposed to be drunk and asleep during the Rancor fight but he's awake and watching. You can also see Bossk earlier in Jabba's palace IIRC.
What's so difficult about simply admitting that the novels are shitty? I hate the way he tries to tie everything in so that every bounty hunter is doing really important things. Why can't some or most of those bounty hunters just be the unimportant, irrelevant scum that the Imperial officers regarded them to be?
