Outside of the Sith and Jedi, how many powerful force users do we know of?

The Depa Billaba thread made me think about this, because in Shatterpoint, there is a very powerful 'wild' force-user on Harun Kal called Kurt Vastor.

Assuming you wish to exclude the Darth Tyranus's Dark Acolytes and the Galactic Emperor's Inquisitors and Dark Jedi, there are the Prophets of the Dark Side, the Sorcerers of Tund, the Jensaarai, and the Nightsisters of Dathomir. Of course, as it happens, the Prophets, Sorcerers, and Jensaarai are all quasi-Sith cults, and the Nightsisters are derived from a schismatic Jedi sect; Supreme Prophet Kadann and Nightsister chief Gethzerion have been compared to the Galactic Emperor in terms of power in the dark side, and the last Sorcerer, Rokur Gepta, was said to have been a good friend of his. The Dark Empire Sourcebook mentions the Krath, the Heresiarchs, and the Jarvashqiine shamans as being among the cultures the Galactic Emperor studied, and there are also the devotees of the Tyia.

Think Publius got them all. Were the users of the "White Current" in there?

There is the Fallanassi and the Theran Listeners of Nam Chorios.

And the An'ting (sp? I don't have my books) monks from the Hand of Thrawn series--we're not completely certain how 'powerful' they are in the Force, but we know they have a completely different understanding of it than the Jedi or Sith.

The "White Current" is a group of female force-users, I think.

As well as lead Jedi Grand Masters around by their nose on wild goose chases like little lost puppies. I hated those books so much. Luke did not act like he normally does. Maybe he had the flue.

Well, do you only want 100% confirmed Force-users? Cody SunChilde certainly wielded "powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men," many of which were consistent with being a Force-user, but no one called him as such.

The Aing-Tii monks aye. Then, there are the Kel Dor Baran Do sages, the Matukai physical adepts and Zeishon Sha telekinetic adepts, all featured in the Hero's Guide.

Seriously, while i don't like the Akanah-part of BFC, it fits the pattern. Luke was ready to follow Obi-Wan to learn more about his father and now he followed Akanah to learn more about his mother. It was also a nice idea to confront him with a different view on the Force (much like Vergere), what forced him to broaden his horizon.

Slight tangent- I've already made a thread about whether or not non-Jedi/Sith/Force-users use lightsabers, and pretty much it's never done since the weapon is a symbol and dangerous and difficult for non-Force-users to use.

However, are there any besides Grievous who use it?

Han Solo uses a lightsaber briefly in ESB and The Unseen Queen. And Tarfang in the latter.

In the novelization Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi mentions that lightsabers "at one time" were "widely used," and "still are, in certain galactic quarters." The so-called Lords of the Expanse (noble families in the Tapani Sector) from the roleplaying game often use lightsabers for duels and suchlike, despite not being sensitive to the Force.

Han also used a lightsaber to cut the coolant lines on the counterfeit Falcon during an attempt to abduct Leia on Bpfassh. I don't recall which book it was specifically, but it was in the HTTE trilogy.

I think that was Dark Force Rising.

No, that was in "Heir to the Empire".

Baron Orman Tagge also wields a lightsaber despite being no Force-user.
