"DanielJacksonMPC" recovering From Accident

While doing my monthly or so check-up on my own personal Kim Jong il (Read Darkstar's recent blog entries; the desperation for being pushed off the stage by Traviss is hilarious) I found out that "DanielJacksonMPC" is recovering from a coma resulting from a traffic accident. Detail here.

As someone who has been involved in a serious traffic accident seven years ago which resulted in a permanent eye injury, I wish him well. This of course, must surprise the shit out of that fucking idiot Gstone:
GStone wrote:Well, that'd explain it. However, I'd give even odds that some at SDN would even take this incident and twist it into a very bad version of it, like what they did with the Katrina incident, even if it's just in their treehouse, the Hall of Shame.

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about this feud with GStone so I don't know what his problem is, but as someone unconnected to it I wish this 'DanielJacksonMPC' person well in his recovery.

How jaded and absorbed in their own personal crusade does one have to be to think that one's "enemies" would attempt to turn personal misfortune into some sort of character attack, especially in regards to an online media debate that's been largely dead for years?

I certainly don't wish an injury like his over such a thing. For what it's worth, I hope his recovery goes well.

Does GStone not realize the irony of using a tragedy as an excuse to attack people by ... saying that they're the kind of people who would use a tragedy for their own ends?

Is he honestly that fucking stupid?

Rhetorical question, I know.

He's (GStone) a massively obsessed asshole with no perspective, obviously. Some guy gets in a life-threatening accident, and his first thought is "gotta work in a jab at SD.net!"

I never read DarkStar's blog regularly anymore (once every couple of months, for a laugh- but I really do pity people like that.

I gotta give GStone credit for one thing, he is the master of the wall of bullshit. The fucker has the ability to make a several page post that says absolutely nothing.

You know what's really sad- how many personal tragedies have there been on a board as big as SD.net? More than a few. At no point did anyone mention Darkstar's smelly little corner of the internet and its few denizens. Why? Because they're irrelvant to the issue. What have they got to do with anything? Would it even occur to anyone? No. God, get the fuck over it already ...

Anyway, a cousin of mine was in a coma and she suffered eye damage as a result of it (car accident) as well. She's well now and had a cornea transplant (or some similar eye operation). I wouldn't wish that on anyone- including people I don't know.

Not only that, but they will mention it and attempt to use it against this entire board.

Here's hoping he gets better. My mother had some eye damage after a stroke and it really is a blow to lose so much vision so fast.

I think it would actually surprise them if everyone dropped in and commented on DarkStar's blog wishing Matt Carpenter well.

Why? Did this Matt Carpenter guy have a special connection with Darkstar's blog?

Apparently, he commented there frequently, and I've no idea how to reach him otherwise, since he couldn't pay for his website while he was in a coma. He's a hardcore trekkie and was administrating and paying for the "st-v-sw forums" at digital-breakdown.com.

I think the true irony is one, Darkstar used a personal tragedy to make a SD.net member look like a psychopath, and two...his RSA's little Katrina incident was more then indicative of the little shit.

But hey, GStone and his ilk are the masters of rewriting history.

Of course they expect SDnet to pounce on personal tragedies. In fact, I'm fairly sure the lack of immediate action to that effect on our part unsettles them. Were they in our position, they'd do it in a heartbeat.

They've been in our position, and done it -- IIRC, they jumped all over Stofsk when he got arrested.

Trollkingdom did that, the pieces of shit. I didn't know of anyone else though.

I wish this weren't real. Apparently, RSA posted that over on the old strek-v-swars boards.

If I knew him, I would, but I don't. The only reason this even came up is because of that asshole GStone. I wouldn't wish or use that kind of personal danger on anyone.

And that is why Stofsk is a much better person. In fact our whole community, mosty, is.

Everything they accuse us off, all the slander, lies and claims of obsession they hurl is more a reflection of them than us. They see everything they hate about themselves and project it onto us here try and think they're superior. We all know they truth, so do they, and it eats at them.

Pounder hit it on the head. How sad are you that you would use someone's personal tragedy to make snipes at another board in the very first fucking post? For what it's worth, I wish Daniel the best. I can't even imagine how incredibly upsetting it must be to wake up and discover you just lost a month of your life. I'm glad that he's come out of it and is recovering.

We should save our ire for a different thread, and make this one about Daniel and how we wish him the best. I find it crass to accuse us in the same breath as mentioning his plight, but we're not doing THAT much better by giving him our support and then a sentence later talking about how much we dislike them.

Given RSA and his gang gave more then ample accusations most of us are pointing out the irony that they believe we would do the exact same.

So before claiming the moral high-ground about our ire. Read the fact that RSA accused us and called a poster of ours a SOCIOPATH because he was a part of the board with GStone accusing us that we would twist tragedy into a laughing event for the HoS. So read before posting.

I don't get why that's important. We don't need to fire back at them on this thread--that's all I'm saying. It doesn't matter what they say, if you want to demonstrate how wrong they were. I think we can understand the irony without going over it. Eh. It saps the goodwill and makes it seem we're more concerned about being talked nastily about the internet than about Daniel's health, and that this thread's more about them being jerks than him being hurt. Seems crass.
