Legacy of the Force: Betrayal

Post by Captain Kruger »

I'm sure there are quite a few regulars here who've read this first installment in what's supposed to be a 9-book series released over the next two years. I was thinking this might be a good time to get back into SW novels. But I was curious...can someone get into this new saga without having read the Yuzhann Vong/New Jedi Order series? I know it follows characters from those books. Will I be utterly confused about what's going on?

Having read Legacy, I would suggest that you at least check up on the general NJO storyling on Wookiepedia.

You will not get utterly confused as the books explains quite a bit, but it will certainly help your general understanding.

So, required: No, Helpful: Definitely.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood

I already have basic idea of who's who in the NJO era, so maybe I'm already good to go. I'll check up on Wookiepedia just in case.

Thanks.
