I'm trying to get the characterizations right here.

Mainly, the character of 8 year old Anakin. About a year before the events of The Phantom Menace. The reason why is that I'm writing a fanfiction, and I have a few chapters done so far, but I want to make sure I have the characterization right. So, how do you feel 8 year old Anakin would react if he was suddenly sold? How would his reactions be different if he didn't get a chance to say goodbye to his mother? What issues do you think this would lead to further on?

It depends on whether or not you believe Anakin was a creation of Plagueis and/or Palpatine and that his being discovered in TPM was not by chance, or if you believe his being discovered in TPM by Qui Gon was just luck. In the former situation, some way or another the Jedi and/or Sith are going to be knocking on the door anyways, and in the other, well I have no idea.
