Star Wars has no shields?

Yes, it does, I just posted this to bring up the topic.
Anyway, I have heard this more than once.
on ASVS
and here
I don't know, perhaps they think the asteroids were directly hitting the ISD in TESB, or it wasn't an energy shield in ROTJ protecting the DS2, it was some other kind of shield.

It matters because it's ancient history. Yeah, seven and nine years ago, some people somewhere else said some dumb stuff. That's about it.

Well the second example was an idiot who claimed his point without researching SW. A simple movie viewing would have had him shut the fuck up. Secondly.. he never even checked his sources... nor did he give any solid ones to check. Hes a dumbass. So his entire arguement followed suit in being dumb.
the first link you gave i could not find the origional authors post... I guess it isnt listed or something... neverhteless.. he sounds like an idiot too.
In short... they are dumb.. so its a given that they are wrong.[/i]

I dont know it just seems to me that the reason why the StarDestroyer was was destroyed because it hit a damn asteroid. I dont know about you but any shield that can repel that thing is jsut pure wankage in my book. A many mile long rock that comes hurtiling at you at God knows how fast is going to tear right through you.

Well, there are stupider things. I remember once at a grocery store I worked at (the managers put it up) they accepted monopoly money once.
