First id like to apologize to SeeingRed. i hadnt noticed that you were the author of both of the previous threads until after i posted mine

Seeing that i didnt come close to the linking job that SeeingRed did it kinda shows off Reds work

As for the bulk and purpose of this thread

It seems that ROTJ has the least amount of changes out of the 3. We all know of the "enhanced" Sarlacc from the SE. I dont know about you but to me just the unknown of just a hole with a few spikes gives me more fear then seeing a beak coming out of the ground, I feel like if i shoot that then it will die.
If you have the 1992? VHS tapes of the originials you shouldnt buy this tape, or for that case you shouldnt be buying this set at all if you have the VHS' and they are in fine condition. But for those like me who were born after the movies finished and grew up with the SE then buy the set.
Like my first post i stated a needed a starting point to see if i would like to buy the complete set but Jedi wont be that one. very little changed.
Im more interested in seeing the claustrophobic Cloud City then I am in seeing the original band song or Yub Nub Ewok celebrartion.
ah well

Once again I am sorry SeeingRed for taking your thread idea

They removed all the eyebrows!
Horay!
And what's with the blue shift of all space scenes?

Notice they don't show any of the sabre fight...

...what the fuck possessed them to add a performing Yuzzum to the production number?

And I agree with Tychu; the addition of the beak to the Sarlacc turns it from an imposing, mysterious, thoroughly nasty thing to "Oh noez a big sandworm!"

It seems more like they did it in every scene.

Looking through the comparison, I like the dirtier look of the original than the new clean up ones. It's just too spotless looking.

I'm the opposite. I like the clean look of the blue tint, and dislike the faded out look of the original.

More like "Oh noez the spiked desert butthole has a really bad parasite".

The only things that bother me here are Vader's Pink Lightsabre, and just how kooky the new ghost-Anakin looks. He looks like Yoda told him a dirty joke and tries to keep himself from laughing out loud.

I have no problem with blue shift also but you won't hear me not complaining.
What I would really like to see (maybe for 30th anniversary) is CGI ROTJ battle. With fixed sizes for Death Star and maybe a few Trade Federation battleships added to the Rebel "rag tag" fleet.
Now that would make me dig into my pockets.

I think having any Separatist vessels present at the BoE would send the wrong message to the audience.

I can't decide whether I'd want to see a CGI BoE or not- it'd be interesting, but unless they did it shot for shot with just embellishments as far as the capital ships are concerned (e.g. more actual battle between them, better explosions, etc) it really wouldn't be the same.

I can and the answer is "no". The biggest CGI battle in the prequels didn't even reach to Endor's ankles. Expert model photography and practical effects->polygons and bumpmaps, especially when Star Wars is concerned.

And I wouldn't trust Lucas to not sneak in some buzzdroids.

I don't think it's got anything to do with CGI vs models, it's a question of plot, direction, and pacing. The Battle of Coruscant was just eye-candy you travelled through, that's why it's inferior to Endor.

Yeah, there is that.

Predictably, they don't show any of the (now ruined) lightsaber examples.

ROTJ is my favorite of the series and it's really gotten the shaft in each new special edition tweak (though I will give kudos for the Rancor scene, one of the few genuine improvements).
