what would have happened if padme had been killed early in the movie of AotC for instance on the exploding ship or else by the kouhuns (the killer worms)
not regarding how episodes 4, 5 and 6 would have gone (although anakin could have eventually found someone else)
would anakin have turned directly to the dark side as a responce for the killing of padme or would palpatine have lost his influence over anakin because he (anakin) now hasn't anything to lose (except for his mother but this time he can't go because there is no reason why he shouldn't stay with obi wan)
what if padme died in AotC?

Well Anakin's fear of loss lead him to the Dark Side, along with Palpatine's scheming. With Padme suddenly taken out of the picture he would definetly be pissed off, but he would have Obi-Wan to help counsel him through. It also depends on which part of AOTC she bites it in. The begining by the assasin worms would probably be easier for Anakin to get over then if she kicked on Geonosis when he had fully reestablished his connection with her and she had confessed her love for him.
On the other hand, Jango Fett was actively trying to kill Padme and he was working for Tyranus and Gunray. I would imagine that if Padme were important to Palpatine's overall scheme he might tell Tyranus to tell Jango not to kill her. He is quite thorough afterall.
As for his ma, he probably still would have disobeyed and gone to her at the same point. Whether he was on Naboo, Coruscant or wherever, he would have had the same vision that finaly broke his leash. He might take his ma dying harder in this version though, since he was tasked to protect the love of his life in AOTC and that is the direct reason he couldn't go to her sooner and he was able to go to her for consolation. If Padme was already dead he would probably be with the Jedi or Obi-Wan and he might lash out at them, since Yoda would probably drop some pearl like, "Grieve not the death of your beaten and tourted mother whom we kept you from, for one with the Force she now is."

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

if padme was killed by the assasin worms would the hired assasin (Zam Wesell) have any chance of surviving anakin's rage, we know what he have done to the tusken raiders.
and if anakin did burst out in such a rage, could he still be a jedi? the incident on tatooine was his first time alone on a mission so he wasn't punished too hard for that

This reminds me of the "Is Anakin a Whining Monster" thread. Padme is the unwilling catalyst in his descent to the Dark Side, and her death would definitely foil Palpatine's plans (as Havokeff said). Although it would still be a struggle with the painful loss of his mother, if Palpatine still approached him in RotS with the Padme factor gone, he would likely go tell Mace, but this time stay in the Temple like a good Jedi.

Anakin's feelings for Padme at that point was more like a infatuation than the love he later shows, and he would probably be able to maintain discipline with his Master at his side. The loss would sadden him, but not nearly so much as it would have later when she professes her love for him as well.freker wrote:if padme was killed by the assasin worms would the hired assasin (Zam Wesell) have any chance of surviving anakin's rage, we know what he have done to the tusken raiders.

The turning point was probably the kiss she should have never given him. That really accelerated his downward spiral.

I could see Palpatine using that to his advantage in the 'Throne Duel' on the Invisible Hand
"He's the one the ordered Padme's death".....
Maybe tempting him with her resurrection or something... (via a clone and the Dark Side programmer her, whatever)
However, since Padme really was ANakin's weakness, Palpatine would have to find another...
