My ideas for a chat and BBS based SWRPG

Back in the day, I used to partake in some online SW-rpgs. They were alot of fun, but you need a large group of people to have it done right, and people with the right mindsets to help drive along plots and whatnot. I miss the days of EOTF (Expansion of the Force) in yahoo chat.

I was wondering if anyone had any desire to set up a SD SW rpg that would work on the same principles. We could use yahoo chat for real-time rps, and message boards for some plot devices and other things.

If enough people are intrested, I could flesh out the details a little more.

I prefer MUSH's for my SWRPG's online. Those of you who know how to use Telnet might want to check out starwars.xidus.net:5500, as I'm one of the Admin there.

Can't remember what a MUSH is for the life of him.

I might help out, but let me beat the dead horse some more. I was in one that was on AoL and it got fucked all to hell. If you decide to make one, you will really need to sit down and setup some guidelines. If I can find the old warbook, it had specs for board simming and we used it for chat simming too. It can be some complicated shit, but if done right could rock.

DG, AOL chat rp was horrible...

The stuff I've seen in yahell, even in it's worse times, was by far better.

Yeah, I've got some ideas. But I'm thinking that unless there's a big disagreement to this, that I may exclude Fleet combat and movements except as a major plot device. Because all the aspects with the Fleets...construction, times, places, materials, etc...did away with the actual RP and drained the life out of the sim I was in. Unless I can get some people that can really put all that together properly and and fairly, and far less complicated, I'm going to try to avoid it.

There will be rules and guidelines, based off ones from sims I've been in before.

For a brief run down, power characters like say from the movies or novels that represent a large role-i.e. Luke, Vader, etc- will be decided upon who can demonstrate that they can play them best...without abusing the fact that they are taking a templated character with set abilities...

New, created characters, will have to be trained and elevated in a sort of rank system for Force users. (i.e. Padawan, Knight, Master...Sith Apprentice, Sith Warrior, Sith Lord, etc). Their knowledge, advancement, and skills will be judged on trials and whatnot. This will keep power characters out of the hands of people that cannot handle playing them, or playing them properly.

More to come later.
Any other feedback is appreciated.
