You know, the shots of them "in motion" almost give me hope.

Especially this one. And Catwoman looks tons better with the goggles pushed up like that.

*reads review posted below that*

...crap.

This is because many of those users are from a generation that grew up in the post-BTAS era and didn't experience the wonders that it provided week after week. So, they turn to JCA (and the only true good thing about it -- and this stems from my love of DS9, mind you -- is its continuity and long running arcs).

Sadly, as the TZ review indicates, I highly doubt that this series will provide the same.

Even Mophir doing the Gluxitol bit at the end of JL's Eclipsed was funnier than that.

And now for the salt in the wounds, the first four pages of the new comic based off of the series.

There really was no need to post that.
The TV series was bad enough as it is.

True...it's no achievement, but it's just to make a small point of how low it hasn't possibly gone(course we could watch it and consider it better.)

And so how do you love your long lost completely unknown brain surgeon psycho bestest friend :P

Hell, if he had been long lost I could almost have born it.
But that guy was supposedly my best friend for all my life, and yet, somehow, thoughout 15 plus years of material if we ignore the pre-Crisis stuff he curiously was never ever mentioned...
As far as I'm concerned, the only worthwhile piece of 'Hush' was me nearly doing in The Joker.

A 'Get Off The List Free' card.*
Which, by now, you no longer have...

By all means do make light of it, we shall see...
I'm very much afraid that ALL of those on that list apparently make light of it, Master Bruce...
And all of them shall find out the hard way....

Don't remind me.
Jim can shoot one of my suits' ears off but he can't wing me so I stop corpseing the Joker?
Nevermind that-The Joker crippled his daughter, he murdered his wife, and Jim still bothers?

Problem being, the very buildings I'd be dangling from are no more real to them than the dark back alleys I'd be abandoning them in...

God, I HATE the new Joker! Fucking hell, he's supposed to dress nicely in a warped way, since despite his sick and twisted world perspective, he always maintains a perverse semeblance of normality, which serves to make him even more insane. He's always had warped business attire because in his mind he's kind of a business man.

I don't think they should have messed with the character design from The New Batman Adventures or Batman Beyond, because those were excellent. Both Joker and Harley were perfect. God... I bet they are going to do something really stupid with my girl Harley.

The Penguin isn't all that offensive and I don't mind Mr. Freeze, though his design is far inferior to TNBA or BB.

And hey, morons, what about Commish Gordon? You know, the guy you are going to have to introduce if you want Batgirl?

Man, this is going to suck...

Honestly the Joker reminds me of some bad Tarzan rip off.

Seriously lok at him...look at Disney's Tarzan. Pretty much the same guy

Shit, dude, you're rght! It's like they dressed up Tarzan in the same way Batman is a dressed up Jackie Chan.

A horrible inspiration choice -- unlike the BB design's inspirations.

Interested?

According to Bruce Timm, when they were in the early stages of pre-production for ROTJ, he was discussing the project with Paul Dini and Alan Burnett. They had wisely made the choice to not utilize the Joker's original re-design from TNBA and wanted to go with a re-design that was more in line with his BTAS apperance (although early drafts of the script would have had the flashback Joker in his TNBA design and then the future Joker in a re-design, explained away utilizing genetic manipulation when he implanted the microchip on Timm Drake).

Anyway, Timm just couldn't get the design he wanted and spent the meeting doodling on a pad with various Joker designs. Well, at that point in time, Thomas Harris' third novel in Lecter trilogy, Hannibal had just been released. This was at the back of Timm's mind and soon, he began thinking more along the lines of a Hannibal Lecter-esque Joker -- and they got it. That's why the future Joker has the slicked-backed hair and red eyes (and why they asked Mark Hamill to tone down his performance).

Oh, and the influence for the hands and their long, stangler-esque fingers? Boris Karloff's Frankenstien; Just like Family Guy's Seth MacFarlane is to Richard Harris, Bruce Timm is apparently a huge Boris Karloff fan and this was his way of paying tribute to one of his idols.
