Hopefully Locate Object allows V to find the sword reasonably smoothly and efficiently. I'd like to NOT have this introduce further pointless complications.

BWHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH. Yeah, this will be another sidequest, you know this right?Simon_Jester wrote:Hopefully Locate Object allows V to find the sword reasonably smoothly and efficiently. I'd like to NOT have this introduce further pointless complications.

Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
I don't what would annoy me more. A length side quest or an anti-climatic insta-solve by V.
Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
I'd go with 'lengthy side-quest'.
Solve this quickly, V!

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
I'd much prefer the anti-climactic solve. We've already had lots of drama related to the airship voyage and the frost giant attacks for about forty or fifty strips- a goodly length of time. It's reasonably time to move on to the next piece of drama- their actual destination.
If there's some complication that takes two or three strips to resolve, that wouldn't be so bad, but five strips would be pushing it and ten would be too many, especially if the update rate slips AGAIN.

About the update rate -- is he still sick?

He's intensely private about it. All we know is that he has some unspecified chronic illness that flares up from time to time.LadyTevar wrote:About the update rate -- is he still sick?

It's entirely possible the damage he took to his thumb is what flares up.Rogue 9 wrote:He's intensely private about it. All we know is that he has some unspecified chronic illness that flares up from time to time.LadyTevar wrote:About the update rate -- is he still sick?
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.
It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

His unspecified illness predates the thumb injury by several years.Solauren wrote:It's entirely possible the damage he took to his thumb is what flares up.Rogue 9 wrote:He's intensely private about it. Ah yes, I remember hearing about that now.
He'll get it done, eventually. And in the meantime, there is a very active online community there.
So much Homebrew......

There was an impressive amount of Homebrew content back when I was active on that forum in college, around '04 to '07. I can only imagine how much more there is now, though I suspect all the old stuff I was so fond of is buried beyond retrieval.

It's all still there. The forum search function works fine.Simon_Jester wrote:There was an impressive amount of Homebrew content back when I was active on that forum in college, around '04 to '07. Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
The new comic is up.

Looks like we didn't need to worry about a long side story after all.

...neat
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
I honestly figured this would be something his sword would have gained. I expected it to happen sooner, but then he didn't know the sword can do that until he accidentally discovered it.
I like that it did in fact get this ability and it got used. Hoorah for not having extra bullshit happen!

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
I actually withdraw my complaints. The reason I wasn't sure if i wanted something long or drawn out or a quick solve is it seemed like there was no point in it happening if it was a quick solve but this establishes something; one of the abilities of the ancestral sword.
So coolio.

I'm going to go ahead and call the "Thor's hammer returns to him -> Roy uses this trick to get one up on Durkula -> Durkon, priest of Thor, geddit" joke in advance...

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
So, that plot arc is neatly wrapped up!
Also establishes that he's learned to use the abilities on command, or close to it. If he can deliberately trigger the "return to owner" feature, he's a lot closer to triggering the "fire energy blasts" feature.Crazedwraith wrote:I actually withdraw my complaints. Hel's looking unexpectedly symmetrical at the moment.
Has she appeared before and has she ever had the more traditional one side of her face rotted look?

Re: THE OotS Thread, Part IV.
She has, and no to the rotted face look.
That might be something she just does with mortals to freak them out.
And you know what, truth be told, if a goddess of Hel's power, and probable resulting power, said 'Hey, help me take out this world so I'll be Queen of the gods in the new one, and you get to spend the rest of forever banging me', I'd probably say yes as well.
