I wonder how much of that was true...

My guess: It's mostly or even all technically true, he just left out certain important parts and phrased things to make Dad look good. Note that he avoids saying why Elan's mother initiated the breakup, or that he's Lawful Evil. And that "I was so tired of fighting that I agreed" could easily mean "what with that paladin chasing me three days straight".

The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers

The Oots art work just makes Haley look wierd in this one.

Not what I was expecting to happen next anyway.

I'm sure Elan will be able to 'shove some more in' the romantic devil :)

That would be impractical as hell - but who cares, it's magical anyway!

Well that just took a turn to the hella weird. Presumably most of that hair is going to go again by next issue.

I liked short hair Haley

edit: Was there a lot of discussion on OotS forums on the meaning of Haley's hair that Burlew just had to joss or something?

I suspect Hailey's hair will be cleaned up after this, and will be a short cut again, just not as 'young boy' as before.

After all, short hair is useful in the kind of Climate they are in.

Plus, now they have all that extra hair to make rope out of.

I have to say that partial nudity was not at all what I expected from Order of the Stick.
I usually read Keychain of Creation for that. :D

True, but with what Marena wears...
The author also happens to be a fan of 4chan's /tg/ board and visits Keychain threads posted there once in awhile - he's gone so far as to draw quick not-safe-for-work pics of several of the characters for that board in the past.

He also has run a few quests on Questchan, which tend to involve at least partial nudity.

Burlew has done a bit of "fanservice" with Haley before, at least in the print books. I'm pretty sure that the non-eroticism of it is the joke.

They probably don't want to let the local Evil Overlord know that they can be used as hostages against Elan for whatever Nefarious Plan he has going.

Also, given the only other member of Elan's family they've met is NALE, I doubt they'd be eager to get familiar with his father.

How the hell is that Dragon flying? There is no way a Zepplin has that much lift!

Or, how powerful was the wizard that cast levitate on her?

It's yet another rules joke. Dragons can fly with their wings, even in an antimagic field and even though it violates the laws of physics. They. Just. Can.

No dragons as depicted could actually fly, this one just looks overtly sillier.

I was more thinking Strength score wise...

However, I agree with the general statement that dragons as depicted couldn't actually fly.

At least not without some absolutely wild internal structural changes.
