Just what is up with fantasy and sexism? There's a reason why I like female fantasy writers. You don't have to deal with the female degradation and rape stereotypes that one might encounter with male writers who couldn't get any when they were in college.

Punishment? Throw em in with the Lloth worshipping drow. Let the rampant anti-female mentality explosively neutralize the rampant anti-male mentality of Lloth's worshippers.
The three best things in life are a good landing, a good orgasm, and a good bowel movement. The night carrier landing is one of the few opportunities in life where you get to experience all three at the same time. -Unknown

*cough* Anne McGaffery *cough*

Personally I think it's because many male fantasy writers (and presumably, a lot of their readers) like to live in the fantasy that women are weak. Maybe it's some sort of anti-feminist backlash.

Actually, the guy who wrote these books had a Ph.D. in Psychology, and also wrote some non-fiction books on sex which advocated the ideal sex-life as being a woman submitting to her male lover (albeit voluntarily). "Goreans" as such are people in real life who, using both the novels and Lange's non-fiction works, have created a sort of "Gorean Philosophy" and are some of the most fucked up people in the world, right alongside those living in cults and militia compounds. The fact that his books were trash just makes the fact that they were turned into a philosophy all the more incomprehendable. They also are, one might say only half-jokingly, the best proof yet that psychology is not a real science.

Its not so much as sexim in my opionion as slower changes in writting style, men still are the predominated hero archetypes in fantasy, mainly becuase fantasy is usauly written by males . Plus fantasy is usually placed is a less advanced world like our fuedal era, which wasn't a nice place. So you should always expect barbarice. The diference between the Barsoom books and Gor however is the message "men are the heros" and "women are inferour".

I actually much more like the idea of hitting them with Akane's mallet-fu. ;)

While having Akane mallet the f00 appeals to my mallet-side, um, well, CryTok can always co-opt Akane Tendo and thus we are both satisfied.

Considering what sort of "philosophy" John Norman advocates, it's safe to assume that he got his Ph.D. from a diploma mill.

Like I said, you could half-seriously call it evidence that Psychology is a pseudoscience.

Actually, even though that site hasn't been updated since '98, maybe the link should be undressed and cut; I just realized that it was a Gorean site and not some bibliography site, and I really don't know if these people would raid the boards or not.

Sadly, the bastard claims to be a libertarian, but in reality his philosophy can be easily shown to be a debased version of Nietzschean philosophy, basted with some watered down National Socialism.

Not exactly sadistic but

1) Solnoids (Gall Force) entirely female, well originally, empire with Doomsday weapons like System Destroyers.
2) Dirty Pair

Okay now these I'd consider somewhat sadistic.
3) Big Gold (Fight Iczer-1!) If nothing else turn them all into Bugrom. Orbital Satellites would pose no threat to her.
4) Valcuria (Guyver: Out of Control OVA) Even if we don't fix her CM I doubt they'd give her enough of a fight to risk it malfunctioning. I expect she would be quite sadistic.
5) Tekkaman (or is that Tekkawoman?) Sword
6) EVA 01 after taking in S2: I'd prefer to use Asuka on them but EVA 02 isn't equiped with a S2. Of course EVA 01 has Shinji's mother's soul so no bigie.
7) Genocyber

Another good one is replace Edust with TX.

I can imagine the TX saying "I like your ####."

But, remember, we need to be sadistic to at least the entire male populace of GOR.
