That outfit is screaming 'colourful bondage queen' to me...
Of course, that kind of is one of the unspoken themes of Wonder Woman, so go figure. Still, it just doesn't look good, and neither do the high heels. Even the JMS-rebooted WW costume would've looked better than that, IMO. I'd be fine with her just wearing a red tank top and blue jeans...

Doesn't look much worse than her original outfit really.

Not my first choice for a makeover (JMS's reboot is a distinct improvement IMHO), but at least she's wearing something that can be considered proper clothing.

Re: Wonder Woman's outfit for the NBC's upcoming show.
Whose brilliant idea were the blue boots? With red ones it would at least have kept the overall colour scheme. Also, the yellow chest symbol is too small, and what's with the pointless red star on it and the belt? Also, while I know the bracers are traditionally silver, with that outfit they just don't fit in.
Overall, I'm decidedly underwhelmed.

Re: Wonder Woman's outfit for the NBC's upcoming show.
The first thing that screamed at me were the heels. Why would a trained warrior like Wonder Woman choose something that idiotic as her choice of footwear? The second that really bugged me is the Wonder Woman emblem on everything. It's not supposed to be there. Sigh.

Appears to be the new outfit without the blue jacket and including the bracelets from her old costume.

Considering her original costume was little more than a swimsuit I'm not sure this is a very apt criticism.Panzersharkcat wrote:Why would a trained warrior like Wonder Woman choose something that idiotic as her choice of footwear?

Swimsuits are merely passively useless (they just offer zero in the way of protection, and while I don't see how it would actually be worth the bother, the chest eagle might even have been armoured on occasion). High heels actively get in the way

Well I don't hate it, but its bit overly sexualized and a step or two much on the campy side.

I really think they should have toned the costume down a bit, but it may look better in the show. Remember how shitty Thor's costume looked.
Re: Wonder Woman's outfit for the NBC's upcoming show.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Drew Johnson's battle armor from the "Eyes of the Gorgon" storyline would be the perfect way to preserve the iconic elements, yet update them:

Lose the pants and then we'll talk. Also red boots > blue boots.

Hmm. Haven't heard about this, so I did a bit of digging.
Interesting. Diana Prince is a corporate type.2011 television project
Reports surfaced in October 2010 that Warner Bros. Television was teaming with writer-producer David E. Kelley to pitch a new Wonder Woman television series to networks.[83] The major networks all turned down the series,[84] but NBC, the final network to initially pass on the project, announced that they had ordered a pilot on January 21, 2011. The plot is described as "a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman -- aka Diana Prince -- is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life."[85] On February 16, 2011, it was announced that Adrianne Palicki was selected to play the title role.[86] Elizabeth Hurley will guest star in the pilot as the villain, Veronica Cale, potentially recurring, and Tracie Thoms will be a series regular as Diana's personal assistant, Etta.[87] Actor Cary Elwes has also joined the cast as the CEO of Diana's workplace.[88]

Re: Wonder Woman's outfit for the NBC's upcoming show.
As much as I like the 'Eyes of the Gorgon' armor Wonder Woman sported, no executive would okay it. He wouldn't view it as sexy enough to wear constantly. Also, would it be comfortable to wear on a weekly basis for the actress? Not that the pilot costume looks any better.

I like the outfit. Know why? PANTS!
Sure it's oversexualized, but really, it could have been so much worse. Agreed with the general consesus on the boots, tought.
Also, no stupid stars on her crotch. The whole USA flag thing bothers me tremendously.

Re: Wonder Woman's outfit for the NBC's upcoming show.
First of all, that wig looks awful. I really hope they get a better one for the show, or even better, let her grow out her hair and dye it. They can get the person who did Bridget Regan’s hair for Legend of the Seeker. It was so well done I would’ve never guessed that it wasn’t her real hair unless told so.
Second of all, the fabric is much too shinny. I get that the golden parts of the costume should look like they’re actually made of metal, but the rest of the costume? Why?
And finally, the bustier makes her breasts look like implants. I don’t know if Adrienne Palicki has fake tits or not, but even if she does, there’s no reason why the costume should draw attention to the fact.
All in all, it’s a testament to how bad this picture looks that they’ve managed to make a really hot woman look ugly.

Looks good to me. Like the pants instead of the bikini bottoms. Does need red boots though. The stars are fine. The lasso looks a little cheesy, but it's a magic fucking lasso.
My issue is with the chick. Her face is too soft to and round for Diana and I doubt she is close to tall enough to be an Amazon.
But, whatever, it is Wonder Woman.

Enh, OK so I went and checked out some other pictures of this chick and her face just seems really round in this particular picture, but normally it has more of an angular shape which is good.
She is also supposedly 5'11" and with those heels, probably 6'2" so that is nice and I stand corrected.

It looks sort of cheap. Like 'pick up from the supermarket' cheap. Probably because the costume looks so plasticky.

They are; even before I knew about this show I had thought she had a bad boob job. To me this is kind of a problem when you cast someone with fake breasts as the last character who would ever get them.Jade Owl wrote: And finally, the bustier makes her breasts look like implants. So is the Wonder Woman in this show going to be able to fly, or will she have an invisible jet? I havn't seen a powers breakdown.
