Two Towers DVD - Which version You Going to Buy?
I purchased the standard version of Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring and later had a friend give me a copy of the extended verion. The extended version is far better in my opinion.
The Two Towers is sceduled for release on August 26, 2003. I am curious if you plan to purchase the normal version, wait for the extended version, or buy both when they are released?

You mean "Theatrical" edition, not "Initial"...
I'll be getting the Extended version only. I don't need both versions of the films, or the trailers, which is the only real notable extra that the Theatrical version has.

I believe in a sign of Zeta.

Should have added this in, does anybody have a timeframe for the realse of the extended version? I have not seen the Two Towers at all.

The Extended version. I'm not going to waste money on the uber edition so I can pay an extra 20 dollars to get a statue.

I really am that stupid.
Both.
Both.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
I'll probably get them both.
I like all the extra stuff in the Extended edition of tFotR but in some ways things work better in the theatrical edition, primarilly once they hit Lothlorien. It's cool seeing all of the gift giving and so on but the way things play out in the theatrical version has more impact/urgency.
I was also a little disapointed in the print for the Extended Edition. The Theatrical edition that I have is brighter and clearer.
Anyway, the main reason I bought both on the first movie is it was suggested that somewhere down the road it will be unlikely that people will be able to buy any verion other than the Extended one. I don't know that there's a whole lot of evidence for that but there are several movies that are out on DVD now that I wish I could get a quality DVD of some of the alternate versions of movies.

By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.

I'm not buying either one. I didn't really like the movie all that much.

I'll probably rent the theatrical version on video, copy it, and then go buy the extended version.

Like a retard I will get both simply because I am one of these completists. Funny thing is ever since getting the extended version of FOTR I NEVER watch the theatrical release unless its on cable, the extended release is superior in every way.
Wherever you go, there you are.
