As long as Disney isn't doing the script writing/animation/anything else other than letting their characters be used...

Personally, I want to see Mickey, Kain, and Riku (not Rikku) in the party this time. And along the way they can meet Cecil and Rosa and Rydia, Cloud can pop up, maybe have Sephiroth and Ramza Beolve join the party sometime. Oh yeah! We should get Brer Rabbit on our side, too. Not that you young'ins proably even know who he is.

Disney does good work, but they pout out all this crap because it sells so well. Apparently, parents want to buy crappy direct-to-video releases for their young kids. The Big Mouse still has the magic, though. They handled the voice work for the American release of Spirited Away, for example, and produced the new Pirates of the Caribbean flick.

And of course, i think we need a certain Thief - (*whack*)

I mean TREASURE HUNTER! -

named Locke showing up to help you out...

Pirates of The Caribbean is made by Disney??

Now I'm thinking twice about seeing it... :(

Yeah, but honestly don't let it color you, it really is very good. No Disney hokey beasties...and no odd musical number.

Though as a note...KH is solely Disney, they co-operated with Square to design the characters as well as use Square characters...but if the make KH the cartoon, Square cna do nothing but pout.

I know who Brer Rabbit is. You can't properly call yourself a Disney fan and have never heard of Song of the South. :P

Anyway, I don't know what to think about this, so I'll remain neutral. I have sort of a love-hate relationship with the Walt Disney Company: I greatly admire Walt Disney and his technical and imaginative achievements, but generally dislike some of the recent business and creative decisions made by the company that bares his name.

When Disney does good, it can be beautiful: when they screw up, it can be awful...

ALthough, I personally think it would hav been really funny to see them all doing the song-and-dance number to the music "Pirates of the Caribbean" as the credits roll...

As well as Triumph of the Will.

The lack of a current domestic video release for SotS isn't really due to people protesting it, but internal politics inside the WDC. They won't release it because they're afraid of the potential controversy it might cause in some circles, and they've gone as far as unofficially disowning the film. While the audiance is out there and ready, they are not.

For a second there I thought you meant Kain from the Legacy of Kain series. I'd love to see what he'd do to Mickey Mouse.

You say they "still have the magic" and then use a complete butchering of a movie that was amazing in its original form as an example? Must not be the same type of "magic" I was thinking of.

To my knowledge and that of the IMDB, there never has been another PotC movie. This movie is great as-is. What are you talking about?

I think he was referring to "Spirited Away", And I really have no clue where he got that idea that it was 'butchered to hell'. especilly when they made a big deal about keeping it as true to the original as they could in the DVD extras. the only 'butchering' present was the presence of some added dialogue to clarify things for american audiences.

The Spirited Away dub.

Simple: I've seen both versions. The original, Japanese version was one of the best movies I've ever seen. The dub sucked.

I have concluded that there are few things more elitist than those who watched undubbed anime.

I do prefer the sub of Spirited Away, but that's not to disparage the dub at all. It's top notch, as far as dubs go.

I have no preference for either subs or dubs. I watch anime to be entertained, and whichever language track I find the most entertaining is the one I'll watch. And it's quite often the dub.

Nice to know that I'm thought of as an elitist because I happen to prefer a higher degree of translation accuracy and appreciate the efforts of the original VAs...

I agree with Durron...I have no honest preference, but I'm not going to go out of my way to see it in a language I have no idea of the nuances nor the understand whether it's good or bad.

If it's only available at the time Dubbed barring some extreme method, then dubbed it is.

Seriously since I don't speak the language and what may sound pleasing to my ears may just be bad acting, but the sounds are soothing.

All I know is that I've never seen a single dub of anything that didn't suck.

You project the attitude of it. I'm sorry if translations don't match your ridiculously high standards, but if you(And everyone else in the group of people I referred to) bash every single dub, what exactly is the world going to think, hrm?

That's not fair. Spanky isn't really an anti-dub fanatic.

True, but he certainly is one of those that bash all dubs, at least as I've seen. And he is the one that leapt out and responded, considering it was in reply to Iguana.

Honestly, I can't take people seriously when they say how all dubs suck and all the originals are great. I saw the original Knight Sabers, for gods sake.
