I personally am not completely familiar with the force lance, the others are familiar either from watching the shows/movies or from playing Counterstrike.

The best way to think of the f-lance is to figure it is the Swiss Army knife of sidearms. It is a metallic tube approximately 1/3 meter in length and when deployed for melee battle it can be extend into a staff about two meters long. If you hit an opponent with it the staff can deliver an incapacitating shock. In addition it can fire a limited number of taser bolts over several matters that can disable an opponent. The Dark wrote:I personally am not completely familiar with the force lance, the others are familiar either from watching the shows/movies or from playing Counterstrike.
The force lance is aimed by projecting a HUD that only the use can see; best guess is that it is projected directly onto the retina somehow. The secondary weapon is a plasma bolt that can be fired either while extended or retracted. The plasma bolt is mostly to pierce armor and more powerful than an effector. In addition the plasma bolt can be used as a light source or cutting torch. You could also use it to say light a fire or other similar use.
The primary weapons of a f-lance are effectors essentially very intelligent smart bullets that can seek targets visually or through use of various other sensors. Effectors seem to come in various types ranging from the power of a handgun up to explosive tipped armor piercing varieties that are in the similar range as an RPG. Effectors can also automatically be fired by the f-lance to engage incoming projectiles or to acts as a patriot missile battery to intercept artillery fire or mortars.

Give me the E-11 anyday. Forcelances have a tendency to be rather short on ammo and the way you hold it to fire is hard to do when sighting. The FC and the today carbine are nice, but with an added scope to the E-11 I could snipe off my enemies and use the scope for scouting the are ahead. The lightsaber, without the powers, would be more harm to me then good due to its off weight ratio.

I'd like to know where you get this false idea that an f-lance has a small ammunition capacity? We've only seen an f-lance exhausted their ammunition capacity in one episode. That was "Last Call at the Broken Hammer" those two f-lances were firing an effector every couple of seconds at mortars for an unknown amount of time. At the bare minimum it was over an hour and several hours at the high end. If anything the ammunition capacity of an f-lance is massive for their size.Larz wrote: Forcelances have a tendency to be rather short on ammo and the way you hold it to fire is hard to do when sighting.
The method for holding for the weapon isn't exactly great; however as the writers have mentioned in the past you having there is a HUD rather than traditional sighting down the weapon.

E-11, standard Stormtrooper weapon, blasts big chunks out of steel with single shots, full auto option with 100 round magazine. Its what we see them using most of the time in the movies.
FC Phaser rifle, the pulse fire phaser rifles used on Star Trek First Contact and later in Voyager and Star Trek Insurrection.
The Force Lance has already been covered.

However E-11 Magazines are quite small. You could easily carry a dozen or more just on web gear. I have no idea in hell how you reload a Force Lance.Renewed_Valour1 wrote:Hmm interesting that probably gives the f-lance a much large magazine than the E-11.Sea Skimmer wrote:E-11, standard Stormtrooper weapon, blasts big chunks out of steel with single shots, full auto option with 100 round magazine.

I'd have to go with the M4, assuming I can get a silencer on it. It's relatively reliable, accurate, and has decent hitting power. If it weren't for the Borg, I'd defintely go with the E-11, but given the unknowns about their adaptibility, I feel safer with KEWs. As long as the Klingons don't have bat'leth and don't come in packs, I'm not worried about them at all; they may not even require ammunition to disable (assuming I can't evade them) since Aikido relies on the opponent's strength for half the moves. The stronger the opponent, the more they injure themselves. I don't really know anything about the Magog, so I can't talk about them. Bounty hunters and the T-800 would be the biggest worry, but I think I'm decent enough to get to an LZ traveling through a forest.

According to Zack Stenz one of the writers you reload the f-lance from "the bottom with a small clip". It seems to be fairly consistent with what Hunt did in "Under the Night" when he tampered with his f-lance.Sea Skimmer wrote:However E-11 Magazines are quite small. Oh I should make a note that they are giant "relative" to Ewoks. They are about the size of a average human but much stronger. Most them don't bother with weapons and rather just charge in large swarms. However several have been seen utilizing gauss rifles. The Dark wrote:Well, now, that makes me wish I had a Heavy Gear instead...but I'll stick to my M4A1.

The majority of ordinary people would just cut their own limbs with a lightsaber. The fact that its use is not widespread in the SW galaxy outside the Jedi/Sith hints this. And what makes you believe that its power source is is not limited?Cyril wrote:Lightsaber. Other than the it and the FC, the others are just ordinary guns.
And, while the FC is useful, it's not as good as a lightsaber. Sure, it can intercept mortars, but since you're just one man who should be sufficently discreet as to not call down artillerly strikes on your posistion in the first place.
The lightsaber would easily kill the T-800. Phaser blasts could be deflected with the saber and the Borg, Magog, and Klingons all engage in melee, giving you a distinct advantage.
Plus, the saber never runs out of ammo.
