Simple debate who would win between one of Palpys Red Robed Imperial Guard and a LOTR Ring Wraith, both are big nasty looking mutherfeckers, but in a one on one who comes out tops?

Nazgul, easily. None of the guardsman's weapons are going to actually kill the wraith. Whereas the second he gets a Morgul knife in him, he's a gonner.

The Imperial guard's ForcePikes can probably take down one's physical form and force it back to mordor for a respawn, though. But no, Img Guards couldn't kill one.

Unless the guard is a woman, the Wraith wins by default. Males can't harm a Nazgul, IIRC.

Oops, I made (another) stupid LotR gaffe...A male may cause a Nazgul to feel pain (as Aragorn son of Arathorn did to the Nazgul), but only a female may KILL one (such as Eowyn), assuming I'm remembering that encounter properly. I wish I had my cards with me, the Eowyn card had the quote right on it...

The Ring Wraith. In spite of the Imperial Guard's excellent training and equipment, the Wraith is a supernatural, semi-mortal beast. It would almost certainly be more than a match for any mere human.

Mmmm.... Actually, only the Leader of the Wraiths is protected by the prophecy. In addition, there is some scholarly debate as to whether it was Eowyn or a certain, friendly halfling who happened to be in the neighborhood who actually killed the thing. Almost all accounts, however, attribute the killing blow to Eowyn.

Ah, only the Witch-King of Angmar. OK, so my comment stands for him. The other eight Nazgul will just have to do their own killing of the guard regardless of gender.
