Hmm... Boushh in Voyager??
I saw an episode of Voyager last night and there were this guy there that looked exactly like Boushh (you know, the bounty hunter Leia disguised herself as in RotJ). He also spoke in a very electronic way... I guess the writers had run out of ideas on how to deform a person's nose, ears and forehead and decided to copy some of the more alien-like aliens of Star Wars instead...

They were allies with the Dominion during the war with the Dominion. Their helmets look like someone stole some props from Skywalker Ranch.Dooey Jo wrote:What's a Breen? Is that what they call the Boushh-like aliens?neoolong wrote:Check out the Breen.

Fact remains the helmet is a direct or near direct copy of the ROTJ one.Raoul Duke, Jr. wrote:Actually, the Breen are (irc) an example of ST novel concepts making it to canon status. I think Peter David came up with them. I'm not 100% sure, but that somehow seems correct to me.

The Hirogen looks just like the shredder from the Teenage mutant Ninja Turtles.... B&B will be rippin off anime real soon....
Won't be surprised if Enterprise went to some digital dimension like Digimon and found monsters that want to conquer the galaxy...

I thought the Hirogen were a ripoff of the yatuja from Predator. I mean the facemasks and the trophy fetish, it all makes sense.Dennis Toy wrote:think thats funny..... Remember the eps with the Hirogen..

Well, George Lucas stole the idea of the scrolling text from the Buck Rogers serial that was made in the 30's. Let's face it, with so much sci-fi being done today there is going to be "borrowing" between universes. I don't think anyone has mentioned this but StarFleet was a term used in Star Trek long before GL used it in ANH. Everyone is guilty of stealing ideas and reshaping them for their own universe. Although the Breen/Bounty Hunter issue is obviously ripped right out of ROTJ.

There's a difference between homages and stealing prop design.Commander LeoRo wrote:Well, George Lucas stole the idea of the scrolling text from the Buck Rogers serial that was made in the 30's.
