MiB II Planet Killer

Has anyone any recollection of the Men In Black 2 ship you see during the opening credits, that belongs to the main bad gal of the movie? I recall it being about the size of a beagle's nose, but being able to flawlessly destroy planets about six different ways (implosion, immolation, explosion, and a few other wierd ways).

Someone I know mentioned it today as 'the most powerful ship in movie sci-fi'. Since I haven't seen the movie more than once, I can't remember. Anyone able to help describe the thing?

It was very small, and it went around blowing the shit out of various planets.

Well, I guess it would live up to its billing, then. One must wonder how large the interstellar community of MIB is; is there a far-ranging civilization which has colonized many billions of planets in the galaxy? They don't really get into it in the first movie.

PS. I actually haven't watched MIB2; I heard it was somewhat lifeless, and so short that people felt ripped off.

It was a decent movie but too short.

BTW, does anyone remember Z in MIB saying Cornellian Death Ray? Did Han Solo make a copy of the Death Star plans perhaps?

Its not as powerful as a lot of scifi ships, its the size that makes its abilities impressive.

Worth renting or catching on TV… not worth the ticket at a theater.

Nothing is what it seems.

Yeah it was really short. I heard the director is trying to go back to the old days where movies were really short. Of course, tickets weren't that expensive back then..

Oh yeah, interesting fact. If it wasn't for the seven minute credits for MIB 1 they couldn't show it on tv because it's too short.

They also had a cartoon short with it in my showing. A true visit back to the olden days.. But only worth the matinee.

The novel spells it 'Korelian'.

And the ship was about half the size of a human foot and fired a beam that took out planets about six/seven times.

One of the planets that the ship blew up was a city-covered planet. You could see the ships going up and down, I think it was the one with the 2 ring systems...

If something that small could destroy planets like that, it would need a (very) dense power source, and would crash-land on earth with increduble KE. Is it supposed to make sense?

I didn't get either the beginning or the end of MIB II. I would reccomend it as a rental, but not worth going ot the theater.

MIB is a series where galaxies can be miniaturized. It is obviously very low on the realism scale.

Well, planet popping ships seem to be common in the MiB universe. In the first MiB, the Arquillian Battlecruiser was also capable of destroying the Earth.
The idea, though, it very cartoonish. MiB is very much a live action cartoon, like the comic was very cartoon-y in feel.

Well, in the first MiB, there is the scene where Agent K is showing J some of the things they've confiscated from aliens and he says this (paraphrasing):
"Now look at this little gagdet. This is a universial translator. We aren't even supposed to have this and let me tell you why; human thought is so primitive that it's viewed as an infectous disease in some of the better galaxies... that kinda makes you feel proud, don't it?"
If taken at face value, Agent K is saying that the interstellar community of which the MiB universe exists in extends across many galaxies.
Also, and while this was not mentioned in the movies, in the comics which the movie comes from mentions members of some races visiting Earth from different galaxies coming the Earth on holiday. Earths chief export is, after all, it's infectious culture which ranges from aliens coming here to live the wild human lifestyle (read: Elvis) to demands that the Earth is blown up before we figure out how to get off of it.
