The size of the Protoss Carriers are sadly variable. Based on certain in-game scaling efforts, the Science vessel is at least 1.5 KM across and it's one of the smaller vessels of Starcraft. Depending on the cutscene used you can come up with ship sizes of 30 kilometers long at the highest or about 1.2 kilometers long at the lowest.
Starcraft rarely wins fights on raw firepower, it's their special abilities that really screw things up. For instance, Dark Swarm combined with a quick rush by Firebats, Zerglings, Ultralisks, and Zealots would be devastating against both AT-TEs and Clones and the SC forces wouldn't take a scratch doing it. Consume a couple of Broodlings or Zerglings, lather, rinse, repeat. There's mind control, which has already been covered, Lockdown (Have fun watching your mechanized troops sit there and do nothing), Cloaking for all kinds of units, Stasis, Recall (Instant Teleportation anywhere there's an Arbiter), EMP shockwave (Look ma, no shields or power!), etc. etc. I have no idea why an Optical Flare would blind the sensors for a whole Capship but they do, which would make the Acclamator useless in short order, right up until it's mind controlled and then Restored to fight on the SC side.

this thread is not about starcraft vs. AOTC that's already been covered this is about protoss vs. the clone army so no lockdown and no dark swarm and also the protoss fleet is fleeing auir and it is not the fleet/army commanded by the player in the brood war campaign so they wouldn't have dark templars or dark archon's
