Brotherhood of the Wolf (Spoilers)
Ok, the basic plot is thus.
Two men discover a Plot by a group of very Hypocritical Fundies to scare the populace with a trained "Beast" that kills people as part of a campaign of Terror, seeking to stop the "Age of Reason" from comming about.
While watching it several times while being sick the last few days, I had a few thoughts.
1. Why do they have to kill really cool characters in an action adventure movie (The Brother syndrome)
2. The Plot of Fundamentalist Terrorists, using a bioweapon to convince the world that the "End Times are Upon us" sound just too feasable.
3. The Hypocracy and sexual degeneracy of the Cultists, all the while claiming to be doing this in hte name of religion just strikes me as perfectly fitting

It was a pretty good movie, but then again, it's French
Yeah, I was thinking pretty much the same when I saw it.
And that bone sword that extended was cool too

'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

Its a very good film....I was very impressed with MD's tomohawk in it...mre so even than that bone sword. Also the pair of small swords were very nice too.
As for the 'brother' syndrome its not purely a film plot device....it goes back as long as we've had fiction.....screwing with someones relatives/close friends is always a good way to provoke a reaction.

Ditto, strangely enough...
Good Movie. Primitive Bio-Weapon of Terror and stuff. Mechanical and chemical augmentation of a well trained Attack-Lion. All with an "Age of Reason" Flair to it, Gotta love that.

Absolutely brilliant piece of filmmaking. It was a hard-ass action movie, a very personal story that made us care about the characters, and had an excellent message about the stupidity of Fundies. An all-around perfect film.

I liked the movie very much. It's just about the only piece of evidence that the French can make a good action movie.
One of my favorite filmiing techniques used in it was when they did slow motion for no apparent reason
-Mani swinging his staff around.
-Mani's friend and red head French Aristocrat with the nice rack (I'm not good with names) riding on horses in the forest (very nice colors for that scene btw)
-That one woman who went into the mud pit to get her goat Slow-mo-ed when she was looking around for where the beast was.
I just love it when they do that.

it was an interesting film, and why do ya'll all act as if believing in something greater than yourself is bad?
Now I'll admit what the group did in the film was really wrong, killing innocent peasants to make things the way you want them to be is terrible. So why do you call showing people who are Christian as evil fundies and Native American polytheism/animalism as good make this film perfect?
Sounds like people on this board really have it in for those who have faith in Christian beliefs.I hope I am wrong on that account.
Please clarify.

The DVD has the Scene they cut out for the censors in it.Tsyroc wrote:I liked the movie too but I couldn't help but think that if it had been an American movie the gratuitous sex/nudity would have been cut out or made lame some how.

I rented the DVD but I can't recall the scene. I probably watched it but my memory has been going to crap the last 10 years. The Yosemite Bear wrote:The DVD has the Scene they cut out for the censors in it.Tsyroc wrote:I liked the movie too but I couldn't help but think that if it had been an American movie the gratuitous sex/nudity would have been cut out or made lame some how.
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.
Open, locks,
