The warp gates collapse, and the warhammer world is screwed...
Except in one very unlikely but none the less possible parrallel universe where a last minute ritual by the Slann transports the collapsing warpgates to the North Pole of present day earth. The ensuing disaster consumes the entire arctic circle and everything and everyone in it in a new realm of chaos. How does this affect the world? Will the earth survive or will it fall to chaos, basicly put: What happens?
Chaos are assumed to have anything they can get their hands on, the realm of chaos will expand until the edge of the arctic circle then stops advancing for one year to give the earth time to prepare, after that it progresses via incursions much like in the warhammer world. The Winds of magic are let loose on the world, so magic will work for chaos, and for anyone on earth who might be able to learn it.
let the games begin!
Realm of chaos in present day world.

I'd say the only lord of chaos who isn't screwed is Tzeench. Khone has just landed in a region where his tactics of "charge in to hand to hand combat" just get people killed. Beserk fury hasn't been much use against firearms since 1914.
Nurgle creates an awsome plauge to wipe out humanity: cries as the developed nations just throw money at it until it goes away. We already have plenty of diseases floating around--a plague would be fairly bad, but hardly as effective as it is in Warhammer.
Slannesh initially gets many followers, however, the fundies oppose him from the start, and when people start getting rendered down for drugs, mobs ensue (not to mention the police and military.)
Tzeench, however, has the perfect place for schemeing: The United States electoral system. Which also happens to control most of the weapons needed to control the world. Tzeench wins, and earth is added to the eye of terror.

You are kidding aren't you? Tell me you are. The reason in WHFB (which is incidentally the same universe as 40K, the slann were the enemies of the Necrons anyway...) Khorne, has beserkers due to the odd fact that WHFB planet is sub 1914 tech (with a few exceptions)
Nurgle, Nurgle's desieses are warp based. A psyker can will them on people, pariah's can't get them etc etc. You are entertaining a good few delusions if you think they can cure that. Look at aids multiply it by a few thousand, make it immune to immunity of any sort. Congrats you have nurgles rot.
Slanesh would get a whole pile of followers, The fundies wouldn't be able to get the cults, trust me on this, it involves demonic anal rape of fundies.
Pretty much what you said, minus the fact Tzeench would also masquerade as the Judeo-christian-islamic god and have them Jihad everyone else.

nurgles rot seems more like ebola or blackdeath, not aids. it mutates you into some slimy rotting thing - doesnt kill your health and let a cold finish you off.

IIRC the first symptom or nurgles rot is horrible pus dripping sores on your hands,Enforcer Talen wrote:nurgles rot seems more like ebola or blackdeath, not aids. it mutates you into some slimy rotting thing - doesnt kill your health and let a cold finish you off.
The end result is that you turn into a plague bearer, unless you get torched or something before the plague goes it course.

Dont think so, as NL, said....not too many guns in WHFB, lots of bows and shit, but Chaos armys have lots of cannon fodder, weird shit and berserk guys in arrow proof armour..it balances out.
Look at the way khornate stuff is handled in 40k, sure they can be berserkers, etc but being a khornate worshipper does not automatically make you a bloodmad berserker, sure, there will be such guys, but they wont all be like that and can still use guns and equipment.
Take pleasure in anything, and Slaanesh can get you.Slannesh initially gets many followers, however, the fundies oppose him from the start, and when people start getting rendered down for drugs, mobs ensue (not to mention the police and military.)
Aw fuck it
Why assume that each of the four gods will only gain cultists ?
I give you a prime example of a chaos force of cultists who were efficient and mean.
The Blood Pact, well trained veteran soldiers, but with the added edge of chaos fanaticism and shit..
admittedly Gaunt smacked em down...but thats cause gaunt is hard.
apologise for incoherancy..
