Forum subject change?

Hello, all. I have received numerous E-mails pointing out that there is no forum on this BBS where non-SW/ST "vs" debates are allowed. People are asking me to either change this forum's description so that "vs" debates are included, or create a new forum for non-SW/ST "vs" debates. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

I believe more organization would help more than hurt. It might be nice to have sub forums if possible too. If not I still don't think a critical mass of topics has been reached yet.

Generally speaking I think seperating "vs" debates from general discussion can help relieve tendencies to flame as it concentrates all the hostility in a smaller space where it can be better moderated.

I think these people want INTELGANT debate not the raving of 13 year olds and people pretending to be Scientists

I think that it should be fine here, or failing that the Off-topic forum. Lets face it, the discussion of other sci-fi tends to lead to a VS for nothing more than comparisons sake at the very least. It really depends on the spirit you cteated this forum in, if it was for discussion of other sci-fi and its tech, then you should create a seperate Vs forum to run alongside it to keep it organised, if however it's here purely as a catch all then go for keeping it all in here Vs, discussion, tech etc.

Thanks for the replies, everybody. I think it's true that it'll be quite difficult to keep discussions of various sci-fi serues completely isolated from "vs" discussions, unless each sci-fi series gets its own forum (like the "Pure Star Wars" forum), which is a bit impractical. So my solution for now is to simply change the forum description so that it does not prohibit "vs" threads.

In anycase, this whole board is very good and well thought out anyway. I appreciate what we have here as it is but I hope expansion and improvement also occurs.
