Daniel Jackson in Early G-1

Post by Master of Cards »

I'm looking things up for a costume i'm going to make. So I haven't been able to find many good pictures of Daniel in BDUs from the early seasons. So if anyone knows what patches he wore and what his equipment was for the time could you post it?

Your title gives me an image of Jackson finding an ancient Deus Ex Machina on a Sumerian-themed Cybertron in order to defeat the uber-army of Megatron, then, next season, the even-more-uber Galvatron, with the help of Starscream, and then the uber-uber-UBER Unicron...

The action figure could give you some hints if there aren't any clear pictures available. If it's somewhat accurate.

I imagine he'd have the Stargate SG-1 team patch thingie at the very least.

And if you're looking for fanfic ideas, why not have the team gate to a dead Cybertron and find some tech that they bring back to Earth. Sam fiddles with it and it sends out an energy wave that the Autobots and Decepticons detect. They gather in Colorado and...

For the entirety of the shows ten seasons, the SG team gear has changed little (the only real change being from the MP5 to the P90, and the following lack of MP5 leg mag holsters). It consists of:

- Magnum 'Response' boots
- Olive Drab Green BDU trousers
- G-8 WEP jacket in OD Green
- Black T-Shirt
- OD Green BDU belt
- Blackhawk Omega Medic/Utility vest in Black
- Pistol belt in black (usually comes with vest)
- Blackhawk Omega IV holster in Black
- Quart canteen or two with Black covers
- Combat knife with black sheath
- OD green BDU cap (baseball cap in O'Neills case), or a PASGT helmet with a Black cover
- Black Nomex Aviator flight gloves (not always worn, O'Neill has the fingers cut off)
- Weapons are the MP5 A3 or A5 or the P90, and the standard Beretta M92 pistol.

In the first episode, Children of the Gods, SG-1 wore a G-8 WEP jacket made of a slightly different material/colour to the remainder of the series. other than that, the gear has remained constant.

If you're looking for places to get the gear, I can give you some pointers, as I collected it myself. I've just sold my own G8 jacket on ebay, pity you missed it, though if the buyer doesn't get round to paying...

Oh yeah, patch wise, the Stargate Command patch is worn on the left shoulder, and the SG team patch and Air Force patch are worn on the right. Careful looking for these, copies sold on ebay are often not the right size.

Daniel had his 'Canada hair' in season 1, but the previous posters are right, equipment didn't change much. A boonie hat wouldn't be out of place, and Daniel carried only a Beretta 92F until 4th season or so, no P90.

Just for the sake of completeness, now and then SG-1 (and thus Jackson) did use US 3-color desert (not 6-color) camouflage as appropriate, and once or twice even suited up in full kit, PASGT vests and US woodland camo, complete with camo paint.

Then there's the various NBC gear if you really want to get anal. And just for clarity, Jackson only carried his M9, never a zat like the others to my knowledge (at least not until later on when he picked up a P90, as mentioned by the previous poster).

I'm using a BDU 3 color set not a WEP-8. Its going to be Desert pattern (already own full set of Desert 3 tone). I just wanted a semi realitic amount of other stuff for my costume. Thanks for all your he guys, and Captain Chewie on SDnet.
