R.E.G.I.S. Mark V put to the test.

Post by OmniBack »

What if a R.E.G.I.S. Mark V was placed in every mecha universe there is?

How would it fair in each?

Same question but mechs instead?

Mecha = Robotech, Gundam, Evangelion, etc.

Mech = 40K, TA, BattleTech, etc.

In most it probably rampages unchecked (at least not effectively) until the sun goes down where it promptly gets blown up.. then about a thousand of them get up the next morning. :D

First of all, try to read the rules, namely those about obscure characters and sources  .

Secondly, the R.E.G.I.S. Mark V is a very nasty nano-tech using machine from the excellent series "Megas XLR" :).
It uses solar power, but can drain just about any energy source (to the point of energy to mass conversion), and can rebuild from tiny, shattered fragments. It also has weaponry potent enough to damage Megas, a Mecha of insane durability and fire-power. (It also has a talen for destroying Ice-sodas ;)).

Mecha-verses? It'll probably over-run all but the very high end, with most of those resulting in a few lone Mechas running around in a planet-mass of Regis's.
Eva's [NGE] for example might be able to hold it off, since AT fields are GOOD against large amounts of comparitevely weak, "firing" enemies, but they don't have the firepower or control to disable it, even when they might figure it out. Of course, SEELEE's control of the worlds military and a LOT of gas might be able to pull of the requisite eclipse needed to shut it down, they certainly have the knowh-how).
This is of course, Barring the ultra wank-end, such as Razaphone where the mechas will simply blow up the planet in question).

As for Mech verses?
40k Has Nano-tech nasties (It's given as an ordinatus platform example), but they'd probably just send down a constant stream of cannon fodder and titans (The Mechnaicus would probably have a collective stroke at a self replicating STC look-alike Iron man) before finally laying down an Exterminatus upon it's sorry tentacled keister.

Battletech dies. Messily.
TA? If the nastier wank is true about black hole rail-gun launchers, and galaxy stripmining then a lone commander should overwhelm it.

Which one, we have Universal Century-Gundam, Future Century-G Gundam, After Colony-Gundam Wing, After War-Gundam X, Correct Century-Turn-A Gundam, Cosmic Era-Gundam SEED (Cursed be it's name and damned be it's creators and production crew), and Anno Domini-Gundam 00? If you chose UC, AC, or CE, you also need a time period, cuz in later UC there are mobile armours the size of battleships and mobile suits that have portable antigravity and giant beam sabers/shields.

I'd guess that he means the species in the old strategy game "Total Annihalation".

Most of whom are sleeping anyway, and don't have Nano-tech that big or nasty. (Even the amount of Necrons on a tomb-world won't be able to destroy it, the numerical superiority won't be drastic enough).

Of course, A powerful minion of the Void Dragon (Also known as The Machine god) might be able to do Nasty, Nasty things to its programming  . (Never mind what Chaos might do given some interfacing).

It gets dropped in the Gunbuster universe and promptly dies. Unless it can zip around around at sublight speeds in combat, it's not even going to be able to touch a Sizzler, let alone the Gunbuster itself.
This is of course, Barring the ultra wank-end, such as Razaphone where the mechas will simply blow up the planet in question).
You mean RahXephon? That had some powerful mecha in it - Obligato could turn three battleships into clay with the wave of a hand, but not even the RahXephon itself was capable of destroying a planet. It could turn back time and shoot shit floating in orbit. Hell, it could even do a kooky retuning of reality, altering history in the process (which was a really special thing). However, it could not destroy a planet.
What is Project Zohar?

Here's to a certain mostly harmless nutcase.
