Yeehah! FUTURAMA on Cartoon Network!
Futurama just began its daily run on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim bloc, now running Sunday-Thursday nights starting at 11p.m. EST. The only SF parody TV series made in America which comes anywhere close to anything like The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy or Red Dwarf; also a far better SF series than the present waste of electrons running on a certain fifth-rate network owned by a studio which shall remain... Paramount.
BTW, most of the anime from the old Saturday midnight Adult Swim lineup now runs after Futurama, including Cowboy BeBop which runs ninety minutes later.

Probably they'll look at the numbers they get for the reruns. If they are really good they might decide to try to order new episodes.Stormbringer wrote:Yes and No. It was put on hiatus. That's a near death sentence but the word is Cartoon Network wants more and is willing to pay for more Futurama.Vympel wrote:Wasn't Futurama cancelled (unfortunately)
Sci-Fi is doing the same with Farscape. If the numbers are good enough they might renew it. So watch Farscape and Futurama.

True...just afar and few between at times.
And Fox then again does things like Simpson...and then balances it out with complete Bull like...man vs beast.
Sometimes I wonder...I mean Futurama was great and honestly not a rip off of Simpson...but it was nearly canned because of what bizarre TV exec reason?

Naturally it wasn't a ripoff, since both were the creation of the wonderfully warped Matt Groenig.Ghost Rider wrote:Sometimes I wonder...I mean Futurama was great and honestly not a rip off of Simpson...but it was nearly canned because of what bizarre TV exec reason?
As for why Fox cancelled it... well, that's really down to the usual TV exec bullshit. At some point, they simply decided not to support it beyond what they absolutely had to.
But at the very least, they gave it far more support than UPN ever did for the far superior Nowhere Man over Voyager and the rest of that network's lame-ass lineup.

Right. I keep forgetting that Alf and such would technically be considered sf/f.Hmm... the only other series in that category I can think of would be Quark. The others have been little better than your bog-standard family sitcoms with an alien twist.
Although I did think 3rd Rock from the Sun was pretty good.
I hope CN decides to pay for more episodes. I'm going to try and watch it as much as I can.
On a side note, I'm surprised at how many of you liked the HHGTTG Tv series. I, personally, liked it, but lots of other people-including none other than the late Douglas Adams himself- have voiced their disapproval of it.

Don't hate; appreciate!
