Not really. At the ending of Revolutions it's kind of hinted that there's a truce instead of a genuine peace, and you get the impression that even if they're not openly fighting, the Machines have separate factions (the Architect and the Oracle).
So it was really more of a lame segue so people can start shelling out $9.95-19.95 a month to find out how it really ends in Matrix Online.
Speaking of which, is there any more room for further installments of Dune: the Extended Universe?

While I've known about them, I'm happy to say I've never read anything other than the original Dune - and definitely won't, either.DogsOfWar wrote:Before now, I didn't even know Dune had sequels. Thank you Nephtys for making sure I never read them, thus allowing me to hold on to the illusion that they really don't exist.
Clear ether!

Massive space is still left for cash-cowing. There's the Pre-Leto Atreides I era, covered by the 'House' Prequels, there's the Post-Butlerian era with the foundation of the Imperium, there's the 'Late Leto' era, where Paul is growing up, there's the tales of Muad'dib's great Jihad and rise, there's the early years of Leto II the Tyrant, there's the 3000 year gap of Leto II's rein, there's the 3000 year gap of The Scattering...Battlehymn Republic wrote:Not really. It's almost sickening how many more tie-ins and EU sequels can still be made. It's way worse than any other sci-fi franchise I can think of.

Don't rule out all the Sequels. Dune Messiah and Children of Dune are both pretty good. God Emperor of Dune is very good in many people's opinion, and from there on you can pretty much stop.DogsOfWar wrote:Before now, I didn't even know Dune had sequels. I've seen stuff made by ST fanboys that was better than that

'After 9/11, it was "You're with us or your with the terrorists." Now its "You're with Straha or you support racism."' ' - The Romulan Republic
'You're a bully putting on an air of civility while saying that everything western and/or capitalistic must be bad, and a lot of other posters (loomer, Stas Bush, Gandalf) are also going along with it for their own personal reasons (Stas in particular is looking through rose colored glasses)' - Darth Yan
