Marathon vs. Halo

The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin
Marathon is practically a posible Halo-verse's future.
In fact the official Marathon history for the time period of Halo, goes something like this; "nothing to see here, move on. Never mind the is several centuries covered by this time period; nothing. happened."

IIRC Bungie has said they're not the same universe though, but who knows.
I may be an idiot, but I'm a tolerated idiot

It should be obvious to anyone who knows the timelines and technology of both games that they take place in a separate universe. I wonder if anyone has done a crossover fic of them, though...
Also, anyone play the third-party scenario Marathon: Rubicon? It's a much better sequel to Marathon 2 than Infinity was.
