Batman vs. Darth Vader

I'm sick of people saying that Jango Fett vs Obi-Wan on the platform disproves Jedi skills.

Point 1: The Shroud of the Dark Side has fallen. We learn that the Jedi have lost some of their use of the Force.

Point 2: Obi-Wan was trying to capture Jango, not kill him. It is difficult to cut loose on someone when you need him alive. Jango, on the other hand, was fighting to kill.

I thought Obi-Wan fought admirably- did anyone else notice it was the first hand to hand fight a Jedi has ever engaged in?

Like jeez Obi-Wan WON. If he hadn't been tied to Jango would he have gone flying?

If you want to capture somebody alive that doesn't mean that you allow him to beat the shit out of you!

Batman's only hope is to spend the six weeks before the fight building a Bat-EMP generator (for Vader's armor) a Bat-throat supporter (to counter the Force Choke) some Bat-metaphasic shielding (for the lightsaber) a Bat-grenade launcher, and a Bat-temproal accelerant (so he can get off all of the above before Vader can). Unfortunatly, he'll still have to turn the temporal accelerant on. If Vader is smart, by then he'll have started ripping off the equipment off Batman instead of going directly for the kill. Without his toys, Batman becomes a LOT less dangerous.

Unless we're talking about Adam West Batman, in which he'll just pull out his Bat-Sith repellent and win the fight.

Vader is a Dark Lord of the Sith.
Batman is a snobby millioniare dressed up in a gay costume.
On that point alone, I would say Vader.
But, add in Vader's Force powers, lightsaber, amor, Batman's ass gets kicked ALL the way back to Gotham city.

From what I saw of that battle with Obi and Jango, Jango was getting his ass handed to him, and was on his way to totally getting his ass whooped. I don't know what you saw.

Even if Batman has Ysalamiri, I think Vader would win by chucking stuff at Batman using the Force. Maybe even gimmicking the Batmobile or any vehicle Batman tried to use with Force before Batman got to it.

Then there's always the good ol' "Spaceballs" method of disposing of someone with the Force (or the Schwartz as it may be).

Yeah! What about the sonic weapon he used against Supes in Dark Knight? He could blast Vader's breathing aparatus with it. A lightsabre can't block sound waves. Then he just has to stay out of reach until Vader suffocates.

In a straight up one on one fight, Batman is simply outclassed by Vader.

If the contest is something other than a simple physical matchup (such as a hunt for a particular person or object), then Batman could possibly defeat Vader.

Batman also could eventually learn enough about Vader to make a side trip to Myrkr (sp?) before any actual confrontation takes place.

To sum it up, it'd be a cakewalk for Vader if it was simply just the 2 of them in a ring without prior knowledge or preparation.
Howwever, given time and resources, Batman could be a formidable opponent.

Given time and resources, Vader doesn't even bother fighting him. He just blows up whatever part of the planet he happens to be, with an orbital strike delivered by one of his underlings. Anything but a straight man-to-man fight in a ring would be an even worse situation for Batman.

I like Batman, but the only way he'd have a chance against Vader is if he had time to plan ahead, and Vader had no idea Batman was targeting him.

And given Force precognition, even that might not be enough.
