something real quick, I was watching my DVD again the other day, and at the part where the Sector 7 goons are in Sam's house, one of them pulls out a Gigercounter and exclaims "14rads!"
Would this not imply that the transformers are in some way Radioactive? Or give off a radioactive Exhaust?
Of couse a few qestions... How dangerous is "14rads" of radiation? And how long was Sam exposed to them? He was ridding in Bumblebee for a day or two, but then was around Optimus and the others for less then an hour before he was "scanned"

A quick Wikipedia visit reveals the following.
A "rad" is now largely obsolete in actual scientific usage, replaced by the "grey". 20 to 30 greys worth of full-body radiation is lethal to a human.
However, one grey is equal to a hundred rads.
So fourteen rads is pretty paltry. I would assume that whatever sort of radiation the Transformers produced would be something that's essentially non-existent on Earth, for such low levels of it to be considered a sign of "direct contact".
