A Borg Cube Versus the Avatar Kids

Post by Vehrec »

For our own twisted amusement, the following entertainment.

Two typical Borg cubes have just been cut off from the rest of the Collective and boarded. Each has been boarded by only four people. Cube A has been boarded by the Gaang from Avatar, consisting of Aang, Katara(with the contents of one waterskin to get her started) Toph(metalbender) and Sokka (with metal-cutting sword). Cube B has been boarded by Zuko(with paired Ox-tail Dao), Azula, Ty Lee and Mai(with somewhere around a hundred knives that can be recovered.) The Borg have a simple objective. Notice and assimilate all four kids on ONE cube. The kids have an even more simple task. Take out all the drones. For the purposes of rest, a 10 meter by 10 meter cube on each Borg Cube cannot be entered by the drones.

Who finishes off the Borg first? Or will metal and tenacity triumph over flesh and skill?

How smart are the Borg in this instance? Do they still have disruptors they can use or are they the complete retards of Voyager fame? Also, do the kids know about assimilation? Specifically, cut-off the arms and the are fine? That would really help with what is going to happen. Also, do they start in the drone free zone?

Anyway, the Gaang would fair much better I imagine. Katara can slice and dice the drones and Toph can alter the terrain to make the drones go squish. Sokka should be on strict close in support detail to ensure none of the benders get assimilated while they might be distracted on something else and not go charging off into battle, otherwise I see him being a weakness that quickly gets assimilated. Aang would need to acquire water as well since I doubt airbending or stock earthbending is going to make much of a difference and he doesn't really know firebending.

For Zuko's band of Fire Nation elite, Ty Lee is dead weight. She needs to go in close to attack and her entire style requires physical contact. I don't see closing chakra points really doing much against Borg. Mai could be effective provided she consistently aims for throats and brains, but some drones actually have decent armor over those points which will greatly reduce her effectiveness. This team's success hinges entirely on Zuko and Azula's firebending. Luckily they are up to the challenge and can roast the drones with Mai on a Sokka like support role. Ty Lee can, I don't know, go put on a cheerleader costume and cheer the rest of them on

Katara carries a flash where-ever she goes for just that purpose and Borg Cubes have a decent amount of moisture in the air which waterbenders of Aang and Katara's caliber can condence into useable masses. Water should not be an issue.

Cutting the drones should be easy. Besides, how much liquid do the Borg contain? If as much as a human, I fear Katara would easily make them slaughter their own kin if forced to by extreme danger.

If the drones were smart, if at all possible, they should depressurise areas where the Avatar kids are.

The borg like a humid atmosphere, if I remember First Contact correctly, so water is really not an issue. The Fire Nation kids are at a severe disadvantage since, as noted, the've got two muggles with them, and both use weapons which may not be all that good against the Borg, plus since it's a thermal weapon they may be able to adapt their shields to handle firebending. Fortunately once they get assimilated the rest of the universe doesn't have to worry about firebending Borg because they're obviously too dense or fixated on assimilation to get their heads around ranged combat.

The other cube is thoroughly screwed, they can't even depressurise Team Avatar because Aang can pull the air back out of the vents as it's leaving.

Now, see, there's the problem. The Borg are presented as a bunch of colossal morons, even in TNG.
