At first I thought this should go into Pure Star Wars, but...then I thought it would have a better fit here. You'll see why very soon.
Okay, this is a call to set up the Star Wars Galaxy as you see fit, almost 200 years after the fall of the Galactic Empire. Ignore or include as much or as little as you like, what matters is the current state of the galaxy 200 years later.
Sound's free-form doesn't it? It isn't. Because this is a function of a crossover that has almost as much expansion as Alan Moore's League of Extra-Orginary Gentlemen (which this 'Universe' includes in some capacity).
There's a lot of rules out there largely because it for a massive crossover project, and there are very few 'canonical"--or, rather, published Star Wars Crossovers.
First thing to take into account:
Han Solo and Chebacca crash-landed on earth after a hyperspace malfunction almost 200 years ago as of 2007. However, for the sake of less depression, I'm allowing Han Solo to live a full, healthy life, and eventually become the ancestor of Indiana Jones.
Fucked up? I'm just getting Started.
Second thing to Take Into Account:
The Children of the Green Planet have made their own epidition to the Sol System in the Milky Way Galaxy to sample the plant life there (E.T.), but almost lose a Jedi Apprentice to the planet's suspicious and hostile natives. From this, the Star War Galaxy has ben "Identified" as Triangulum Galaxy.
Think that's bad, let's lense back to our neck of the woods for a moment.
Third thing to take into account:
Space if very crowded. The Milky Way Galaxy between 1995 and 2005 holds large tracts of territory controled by Cybermen, Goa'uld, various Great Old Ones and their minions (Cthulhu and the beings from Xoth, An unidentified "Black Oil" being and aliens known simply as "Colonists" on earth), The Draconians, a shapeshifting race known by many names (Rutan Host, Skrulls, Space Spawn), Yautja (though they rarely think of it as 'controlled territory) and Sontarans. On a pan-galactic scale, the Lloiger/Wraith in the Andromeda Galaxy, the Asgard and the Replicators in the Ida Galaxy and, the various empires/agencies you name in the Triangulum Galaxy.
And once, some remember, there were fearful things called Daleks and wonderous beings dubbed Time Lords.
Head hurting yet? Just wait, you'll get there.
Fourth Thing to take into account:
The Sol System is also dense with alien life forms: Venus and Mars both home several sentient beings (Mars hosting 4 color-coded martian races and a group of squid-like beings who once used tripod-machines to conquer a portion of the earth for a brief time) and animal life forms--the natives calling their home planets Amtor and Barsoom, respectfully. beyond them, Neptune is inhabited by cubical machine creatures, and the dwarf planets of Pluto and Charon are home to the fungus-like Mi-Go. Even earth's moon is home fo a colony of ant-like beings called Selenites. The Sol system also had the misfortune of hosting the Rogue Planet Mongo in the 1930s.
To much information? Probably, but that's to give you a scope of what's in 'our neck of the woods' and a bit around it.
So, with this information, work a Star Wars Galaxy for the turn of the 21st Century of terran reconing. Is there an Empire? Hutt Space? A Galactic Republic? Were there Yuuzhan Voong? Were they actually the Mi-Go?
The only real cement things to take into account: 1) Chewy and Han have been 'removed from the equation at a point after the fallof the Empire, 2) There are still Jedi in the time period specified.
Other than that, use the flavor-setting provided and run fast and loose with concepts, but be respectful of the sources at least in spirit.

I feel like you might run into some logical issues by including the the Star Wars Galaxy in this, especially mixing it and the fast Stargate Hyperdrives. If the Star Wars Galaxy has been in the neighborhood of the Asgard for any appreciable length of time, they've already discovered it. In fact, they probably discovered the Old Republic thousands of years ago, since there are so many inhabited systems in the SWG and so much general activity there. Is it reasonable that the Asgard would have left it alone uncontacted for so long? In addition, I am unsure of the timeline for the Asgard/Replicator War, but it seems like the Asgard may have gone to the Old Republic for assistance if the war has been going on long enough. Even if this isn't the case, they probably have asked the New Republic for assistance if it in fact still exists.
On another note, you actually left out a key piece of information: What's Earth doing? Does the SGC exist, and has it made its mess of the Milky Way yet? Are there any other powerful factions on Earth (largely due to tie ins with already mentioned stuff) that might end up being major players? (Torchwood, I'm looking at you) With advanced races in the Solar System and Humanity's knack for salvaging tech, is it in a superior position than it might be? (For example, the failed tripod invasion from Mars left an army's worth of alien tech all over the surface). Though insignificant compared to the Star Wars Galaxy, Earth has the population and industry to be something of a major player in the Milky Way, which could significantly change the balance of power on the larger scale.

Possible, but intervention of Mythos entities can certainly curtail and stimie such exploratory missions.Strider wrote:I feel like you might run into some logical issues by including the the Star Wars Galaxy in this, especially mixing it and the fast Stargate Hyperdrives. The continual upheval and internal conflict within the galaxy would probably be a factor in this.In fact, they probably discovered the Old Republic thousands of years ago, since there are so many inhabited systems in the SWG and so much general activity there. Possible, if they made contact early on with it.In addition, I am unsure of the timeline for the Asgard/Replicator War, but it seems like the Asgard may have gone to the Old Republic for assistance if the war has been going on long enough.
A lot. Mostly, its worrying about itself. Extra-planetary operations are limited to the SGC and X-Files investigations. On another note, you actually left out a key piece of information: What's Earth doing?
How do they miss each other? It's a case of "Right hand not knowing what the left is doing"
Yes.Does the SGC exist
That is what this thread is here to figure out.and has it made its mess of the Milky Way yet?
UNIT and Torchwood are the two major groups I can recall offhand. Are there any other powerful factions on Earth (largely due to tie ins with already mentioned stuff) that might end up being major players? (Torchwood, I'm looking at you).
Not many of these races are advanced. The Venusians and Martians generally rely on remnant technology. With advanced races in the Solar System
The Martian Invasion was generally limited to England, and thanks to other interveening sources (other alien races hiding on earth, secret societis and whatnot), alien skeptics like Scully would not have heard of such a thing.and Humanity's knack for salvaging tech, is it in a superior position than it might be? (For example, the failed tripod invasion from Mars left an army's worth of alien tech all over the surface).
That is quite true.Though insignificant compared to the Star Wars Galaxy, Earth has the population and industry to be something of a major player in the Milky Way, which could significantly change the balance of power on the larger scale.
Though the Selenites can destabalize the entire Terran economy with its Gold supply.

Convince the Wookiees to think of Ewok tongues as a delicacy (see: extermination of bison to starve the Native Americans to near extinction), and the Mon Calamari to think of Gungan ears as a delicacy (see: hunting of sharks for their fins), and you might succeed.DrMckay wrote:First thing, I'm getting some active camo, a hunting rifle, and starting the "Ewok and Gungan Safari Society for Disgruntled Star Wars Fans."
Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.
Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.
They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)
