in a freak accident, a number of uruk hai are sent to the planet of the apes, modern vision. acting on saruman's orders, they are ordered to take on the main ape city. given equal army numbers, can they do it?

I say the Uruk-hai win.
Less stronger than the apes I think, but more innovative.

Don't know. New version doesn't even have arrows but are superhumanly strong. Old version would diffently kill the Urahi-hai though.

Yup. The original Planet Of The Apes movie with Charlton Heston had the monkeys armed with gunpowder weapons. That would give the simians an advantage.Darth_Shinji wrote:Don't know. I don't know about the Tim Burton remake, as I haven't seen that.

In new version, apes didn't even have bows & arrows, much less machine guns
'Ai! ai!' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!'
Gimli stared with wide eyes. 'Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face.
'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. 'Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. 'What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.'

The new version was so indescribably bad that I'd prefer to give the orcs the victory on film quality alone.
The apes are probably a good bit stronger, but the orcs are certainly better equipped. The crossbows alone will substantially thin the ape ranks before any close combat begins. Given the ape tactic of "charge in and start swinging", the orc pikes will probably work over a bunch more apes. Even the pathetically understrength and underarmed humans in Planet of the Chumps managed to kill quite a few apes in the final battle, so armed and armored orcs ought to do well even in close combat with the apes.
I give this bout to the fighting Uruk-Hai.

As a side note, I agree with you that the Uruk-Hai will win due to their superior armament.
