Transformers 40K

Post by Zor »

This thread is not so much a verses thread but just something i was wondering about.

From the Selection of Warhammer 40,000 vehicles (can be Imperial, Chaos, Eldar, Tau, Ork, Necron, take your pick), what would the main cast transformers (Autobot and Decepticon) be? Would Ironhide be a Russ? Would Starscream be a Lightning Fighter? Would Megatron be a Necron Monolith?

What if they had things like Dreadnaughts, Wraithlords or Crisis Suits for their altmodes? They'd be giant robots that disguise themselves by transforming into...giant robots! How pointless.

Quite a few could have Titans as their alternative modes. (Or heck, normal form for that matter). War-hounds cover almost everyone, although Warlords (Medium size) work for the carrier sized or Construction (Devastator) ones, I think.

Heresy.

That's the official line, of course. Whether or not that's what actually practiced by the inner circles of the Adeptus Mechanicus is another matter entirely.

Everything that has basic computing function has a "machine spirit." Most are no more self-aware than any other calculator or pornovid player.

It's the truly arcane stuff like Titans that are actually sapient.

I actually had a dream where Optimus Prime transformed into a Terminus pattern Land Raider. As for the Adeptus Mechanicus' response to a race of sentient machines waging wars on their turf...

This is my idea. The Adeptus Mechanicus forms a Space Marine chapter for the sole purpose of helping their tech-priests recover STC systems. The tech-priests find and awaken the Autobots, and assume the Matrix is an embodiment of the Machine God (they may be right) and that the Autobots serve them.

Teletran-1 provides the Autobots info on the state of the galaxy; the Autobots it's better to help a lesser evil (the Imperium) than a greater one (everyone else, with the possible exception of the Tau). The Marines tells nosy inquisitors the Autobots are experimental dreadnoughts that transform into vehicles for (relatively) high-speed travel, and the inquisitors leave them alone because pissing off that Space Marine chapter means pissing off the Adeptus Mechanicus.
Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.

Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.

They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)

I think Bumblebee would be those Tau manta ray thingies.

If he was big enough, of course. But since when did Transformers care about scale?

Surely he'd work better as a Rhino, Land Speeder or something? Small, not (too) heavily armed, and good for ferrying people around in?

I wonder about the Decepticons, how they fit in.

I think the Decepticons work best as Necron allies, considering their disdain towards biological life forms. But if Unicron gets involved, he'll probably empower select Decepticons the way he changed Megatron into Galvatron, and set up a Decepticon-Chaos alliance (Unicron is the Chaos-Bringer, after all).

I actually see the Decpticons getting along with the Imperium just fine, perhaps even more so then the Autobots. They can kill all the xenos they want, and even torture and kill humans if an Inquisitor will sign off on it and will be hailed as heroes for it. The autobots will be screeching about how all sentient life has a right to freedom and piss everyone right off.

Drat, I meant the devil-fish. Bah.

I think the Decepticons would work well with the Dark Eldar.

Except Deceptions are not into villainy for the sake of villainy, and they are not big fans of organic life forms.

Yes, but they generally understand the concept of "Means to an End".
