That depends on what you mean by "good". I can think of a number of anime shows with robots in them, but the series I can remember with "useful" (relative) servants tend to be stupid shit like Chobits.
You could go with Chachamaru from Mahou Sensei Negima, though she's more "Sciencey Golem" than Robot, or Magic-Fueled Robot.
Change the fuel and you have a pretty effective servant, though per the thread her combat programing would have to be removed...or, 'Renamed.'
But most of the Robot Anime Maids tend to have overblown combat abilities by default for some reason (oh yeah, Comedy!)
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else! Browncoat Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."
Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.

Well if you personal servant robot is super strong and always at your side it would easily double as a great personal defense asset, of course in most of the shows you are referencing the combat routines tend to be less of an asset and more of an liability...
I think the tachikomas from GitS:SaC would be a nice blueprint, though they would need to be slimmed down in size and slenderness in order to fit inside an average house. Make the big "backpack" they have into a combined fridge/stove so you don't have to walk over to the kitchen to grab some food, and give them a decent HD projector and some decent speakers so you always have entertainment on hand, and I'd love to have it hanging around my home.

Ok, I'd rather get a servant with human standard hands so I wouldn't need to have any specialized equipment.
Options: I like the BSG Centurion look (old and new style), or a C3PO look. Broomstick had a good idea about the silent mode. Wall outlet or Solar Power is a must.
*This reminds me of a NSFW cartoon I saw once with both Ramonas and a Dalek that had various sex-toys on it. The Dalek was saying "STIM-U-LATE".
