Raxmei, was that list the same as the one at the back of Imperial Armour volume 1?
"So you want to live on a planet?"
"No. I think I'd find it a bit small and wierd."
"Aren't they dangerous? Don't they get hit by stuff?"

Nope, completely different list. The Forgeworld armored battlegroup list lacks doctrines, includes ace tank skills, treats armored fists differently, and includes a lot more Forgeworld tanks.andrewgpaul wrote:Raxmei, was that list the same as the one at the back of Imperial Armour volume 1?
I prepared Explosive Runes today.

I've poked around GW's official site, and it seems the Armoured Company codex/armylist is no longer available after their site revamp (into a big online shop, as some have pointed out).
Nevertheless, I looked around and found it archived elsewhere on the internets:

I doubt GW cares since for one thing, they had it available for free earlier anyway, and for another, it was probably taken down simply because it's meant for the obsolete 4th edition rules.
Anyway, the Improved Sponsons option is on page 5 of the pdf. Pages 9 and 10 for a comparison of the weapons available with and without that option.
It would appear that, in-universe, having it would signify the presence of the generators, cooling systems and/or capacitors for mounting heavy energy weapons (plasma cannons and multimeltas).
