Torch Wood season 1

Post by dragon »

My friend sent me season 1 from England on DVD. Kind of interesting but was wondering something.
Several of the characters that died mention that there is something moving in the darkness and it's coming closer.
Brings up a couple of things.

1. If there's nothing after you died how do they know theres something moving in the darkness.
2. Do all the people that die go into the darkness, the kid that got ran over didn't he rose from the earth as if he was ascending but was that due to the stone.
3. During the Final Abaddon appeared and Bilis had said that he comes from the darkness where's he's been imprisioned and that he's the son of the beast. Was Abaddon the big scary thing in the darkness or has that not yet appeared.
4. The Beast is that the one the Doctor runs into near the blackhole.

I havn't seen any of season 2 so maybe some gets answered then or do they?

1 Torchwood does not make sense.
2 is unknown
3 is yes, he is that thing.
4 is no.

Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? Yes, death in all his skeletal glory makes an appearance in S2.

If you're interested in continuing the series, I remember fewer 'silly' episodes in S2 (and a good ongoing story with the 'Day in the Death' arc). But all in all...

Children of the Earth was pretty awesome, though. Just don't expect it to mesh in with the rest of the Whoniverse especially well.
