That, and the episode provided a number of important elements:
-a limited number of cast members requiring introduction
-no real need to get into the larger plots
-an introduction to telepaths without the nuances of the psi-corps issue
-an illustration of B5's overall approach to various topics like crime and religion
-it's a good episode to stand on its own

This way the next one can push a bit further into the show and universe.

The man himself is here! I am not worthy to be in the prescence of such wit and genius. I salute you sir!
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

Corrax Entry 7:17: So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again.

Got to say, Chuck. I'm torn. I've never seen B5 but it looks pretty good from your video. So my dilemma is do i watch your videos as they come out? Or wait until when or if I get B5 boxsets and see the show first.

I've got that dilemna as well. It's a real pain :)

Get the box-sets first (or just watch the show online, it's up legally on TV sites). Chuck's reviews are full of spoilers, and trust me, this is not a show you want to spoil yourself on.

Have a very nice day.

Seconding. Get and watch B5, even if you have to acquire them with a crowbar and a ski mask.
A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.

At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.

The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'

'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

I'll third getting it but since (at least for me) the entirety of the series (minus the TV movies and Lost Tales) is to be had for 75 € legally (and that's new, nevermind buying used) I don't think ski mask and crowbar antics are really necessary :D
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

Apparently I can get Babylon 5, Crusade, the movies and lost tales for just under £50.

So yeah, no robbery needed. Just Amazon.
