Space Pirates (Metroid) vs. Covenant (Halo)

Post by ThePerson5 »

This battle pits the Space Pirates, from Metroid, in an all-out war against the Covenant, from Halo. The battle takes place in both space and on the ground.

Which side would win?

I don't know, but I predict massive armies of low level grunts slaughtering each other with abandon. Also picturing Arbiter vs. Ridley.

Arbiter vs. Ridley? That's just mean. Arbiter would lose to low level pirate troopers.

The Covenant get absolutely raped in any ground engagement. I'll get back to you on their space capabilities.

Do the Space Pirates get to unleash Hordes of Metroids?

Because if so, this goes from a massive free for all in favor of the Space Pirates, to the Covenant dying horribly.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.

Hey, just looked up some stuff. Apparently the SPs have a ship, perhaps 1/5th the size of a planet, capable of unleashing micro black holes and consuming entire planets.

They turn it off early because they need the planet, but in a later slide Ridley specifically mentions to shut it down before the planet is consumed.

Heh, I'd like to see how the Covenant react when that thing warps in and swallows High Charity.

I don't know that it's that cut and dry. Are the Grunts really any more useless then the basic Pirates? And then the Covenant has Jackal snipers, Elites, Brutes, and those hulking things made out of worms I've forgotten the names of.

And I think Arby's cloak might come in handy against Ridley. I am however, assuming the Ridley from Metroid, not the (more) wanked-out later versions like Meta-Ridley and Omega-Ridley.

Um... YES! Apart from being vastly less durable (they die with a couple pistol shots to the chest in most cases), and having inferior weaponry, pretty much their only tactic is to run and hide behind cover, maybe popping off a couple shots. Even the lowest level pirate militia can shrug off direct hits from missiles. If you take the calcs into account, Samus' missiles operate in the kiloton range, making the pirates (and everything in Metroid) even more durable.
And then the Covenant has Jackal snipers, Elites, Brutes, and those hulking things made out of worms I've forgotten the names of.
Jackel snipers may be a problem. Elites and Brutes would be outclassed by standard pirate troopers. Berserker Knights and Lords, Elite Pirates and Omega Pirates put Hunters to shame. And everything I said above still applies :)
And I think Arby's cloak might come in handy against Ridley. I am however, assuming the Ridley from Metroid, not the (more) wanked-out later versions like Meta-Ridley and Omega-Ridley.
Even in the manga, Ridley's plasma breath can wreck mountains.

We are talking about a space dragon that can re-enter atmosphere unaided, outmaneuver Samus' gunship, and fry mountains with his breath. Cloaking wouldn't do much more than aid Arbiter in making an escape.

Yeah, the Space Pirates stomp, at least in a ground battle.

I take it these guys could also tango with Star Wars-level stuff? Warships with blackhole weapons that wreck entire planets? Nice.

I've been thinking that calling them space pirates is kind of ridiculous. I mean, when you have a ship that can destroy planets, multiple bio-weapon projects, elite, mutated shock troops, and are planning galactic conquest, I don't think the term really applies anymore. :)

Well they might as well be pirates, compared to the Galactic Federation.
