I saw the "Doomsday" episode of Doctor Who recently, so I thought I'd throw out a few related scenarios.
The Cult of Skaro, a sort of dalek think tank, has been released from space-time exile with the Genesis Ark, a prison of Time Lord origin. They need to get it into contact with someone who has been through some kind of space-time teleportation event to activate it. If opened, it will start spewing out daleks at a rate of a few per second, with a total output of two million daleks.
Scenario one: The daleks appear on Earth in the 24th-century Federation. They will need to find someone who has been through one of the many space-time rifts that crop up in Star Trek. Anyone who has served on the Enterprise-D is a likely candidate, but there may be others.
Scenario two: The daleks appear on Coruscant during the late period of the Old Republic. Since Jedi are able to perceive events that are distant from them in time and space, their Force affinity is sufficient to activate the Genesis Ark.
Scenario three: The daleks appear on Earth in the 20th century, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anyone who has been exposed to tesseract energy or travelled between worlds via the Bifrost or similar technology can activate the Genesis Ark.
How do these civilizations fare against the appearance of the daleks. Can the Cult of Skaro be defeated? Are they likely to be able to open the Ark (keeping in mind that the locals don't know what the daleks need to open it, but that daleks aren't terribly good at keeping secrets, either)? If they succeed, can the army of daleks be defeated?

Daleks can do it. All they have to do is keep their heads low (the Cult has done that), and they can grab someone pretty easily.Ted C wrote:

Slightly more of a threat, but in all likely hood, they grab a Jedi that is out in the lower districts and stun him.Ted C wrote:Scenario two: The daleks appear on Coruscant during the late period of the Old Republic. What does "exposed" mean. Does it mean "got near the tesseract," "touched the tesseract," or "been near the tesseract?"Ted C wrote:Scenario three: The daleks appear on Earth in the 20th century, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the scenarios the Daleks do win, they end up rolling over that planet, and start a new Empire. Their tech is ridiculous, even compared to some of ST's tech of the week.

If you have handled the tesseract, been teleported using tesseract energy, or fired or been shot with a tesseract-powered weapon (and survived), you qualify. The Imperator wrote:What does "exposed" mean. Re: Fight off the Daleks
Ah, thank you. Do the Daleks know what kind of energy they need, and do tehy know what kind of signature it gives off?Ted C wrote:If you have handled the tesseract, been teleported using tesseract energy, or fired or been shot with a tesseract-powered weapon (and survived), you qualify. The Imperator wrote:What does "exposed" mean. Re: Fight off the Daleks
The daleks are aware of what kind of energy is required, but based on the events of "Doomsday", it's not clear whether they can easily detect it. They didn't immediately know that Rose and Ricky could activate the Ark for them; they only knew after it came out in conversation. The Imperator wrote:Ah, thank you.
