Terraforming is the second largest sector of Weyland Industries, and continues to earn the greatest profit margin as our most consistently well-performing division.

Maybe when Burke said "We're getting into a lot of terraforming now" it's just that previously WY had, say 10 terraforming projects that are incredibly profitable (and hence, the foundation of their corporation) and now their business is booming and they've got 100 such projects going on.

*shrug* Maybe the planet in question was especially valuable or they meant 300 LY?

Or maybe Nostromo, being glorified tug boat towing huge automated refinery just wasn't very fast/flew slow to give refinery time to actually process the cache?

Althought I must say I laughed at 'LIFEBOAT'
